Demonstrable experience leading analytical delivery, stakeholder engagement, prioritisation, and developing colleagues.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:
Join Aon’s UK Data & Analytics team as a Senior Data Analyst. You’ll deliver high-quality data solutions that drive business value and collaborate with skilled professionals across the organisation.
Aon is a leading global professional services firm, using data and analytics to help clients reduce risk and improve performance. Our UK Data & Analytics team partners with business areas including
Commercial Risk, Underwriting, Global Broking, Health, Wealth, Talent, and Governance to deliver impactful data solutions aligned with strategic goals.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage and develop a team of analysts. Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching and performance management for a team of data professionals, ensuring colleagues have clear objectives, development opportunities and appropriate support.
- Ensure analytical quality and data integrity. Oversee data analysis, validation, visualisation and reporting activities to ensure output is accurate, reliable and aligned to agreed standards and governance requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation. Identify opportunities to improve reporting, analytics, data quality, processes and technologies, promoting best practices and helping to increase organisational data maturity.
- Engage in ceremonies, such as team retrospectives, and encourage open discussions, teamwork, and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Collaboratively work with our stakeholders to specify, design, and demonstrate solutions; foster relationships, and ensure progress is effectively communicated, ensuring understanding and alignment.
- Support and develop new and existing solutions in line with stakeholder requirements and our delivery framework; Design, test and validate solutions to meet business needs ensuring accuracy and reliability before deployment.
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
- Data Analysis & Visualisation – Has strong skills in advanced data analytics tools and technologies, including developing and querying data models with SQL (Snowflake, Databricks), Power BI, and PowerApps.
- Stakeholder Management - Understanding the needs, concerns, and expectations of stakeholders. Develop strategies to ensure positive relationships and successful achievement of project objectives.
- Team Management - Fosters growth, collaboration, and skill-building within a group to enhance performance and achieve collective goals.
- Performance Management - Guiding employee goal setting, feedback, and evaluation to set expectations for and evaluate employee work in alignment with organisational goals.
- Azure Dev Ops, project work boards and work item management as well as version control.
