Job Description This is a remote position. We are looking for Data Engineers to l ead our EMEA Big Data Analytics / Data Insights team in close cooperation with other global regions utilizing a shared data landscape and toolset. · Key functions of the team are: o Analyze and transform data from our various systems into our enterprise data layer: Apply state-of-the-art analytics techniques and collaborate with business and process experts inside and outside IT o Master complex data sets and tease out both relevant information as well as outliers and data errors to derive the best possible insights for our business o Acquire relevant business expertise to be able to lead data projects from the functional side. o Key tools are MS Synapse SQL pool, Data Lake/Lakehouse, SQL/Phyton and Azure Data Factory. A step-by-step transition to Lakehouse architecture is planned. · Your job duties will include: o Motivate and manage your team of data engineers and data scientists, set objectives and perform reviews o Allocate resources to IT projects led by the project management office o In a “player-coach” spirit, contribute yourself where technical tasks are within your expertise and time allows o Help shaping the future of our mature but ever-changing global data landscape and system architecture (data warehouse/data lake/Lakehouse, …). Requirements • University degree in IT, Mathematics, or engineering. • Good leadership and communication skills • Excellent understanding of system/data architecture and the tools of the team. • Experience in IT projects • Business experience in any area is a big plus, ideally in the automotive industry. • Fluent in English (written & spoken), additional languages of advantage • Willingness to travel (approx. 10%)
