Contract Period: 01 Sep 2026 – 31 Dec 2029 (Strong potential for extension)

Workload: 38.5 hours / week

About the Role:

We are seeking a Data Engineer for a long-term enterprise contract focused on migrating legacy SAS data processing workloads to the Databricks Lakehouse Platform. You will design scalable data pipelines, rewrite SAS logic into PySpark/SparkR, and ensure functional equivalence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Translate legacy SAS data processing pipelines into PySpark and SparkR.
• Migrate SAS workloads to the Databricks Lakehouse Platform.
• Design scalable pipelines and optimize Delta Lake tables for performance and reliability.
• Partner with analysts and data scientists to validate functional equivalence between legacy SAS and new Databricks implementations.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines using Git and Azure DevOps, enforcing automated testing and data quality checks.

Requirements:

• Mandatory hands-on expertise with Databricks.
• Solid experience in PySpark, SQL, ETL, and basic SAS data processing knowledge.
• Proficient in Finnish (mandatory) and English.
• Based in Finland for remote execution.
