We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our fully remote engineering team and help build scalable, reliable, and maintainable data platforms and pipelines.
Role Overview
As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines and infrastructure that support analytics, reporting, AI/ML applications, and business operations.
You will work remotely with software engineers, AI/ML engineers, product teams, and clients to transform raw data into reliable and usable data assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
- Build and maintain data warehouses, data lakes, and data processing systems.
- Integrate data from APIs, databases, files, third-party systems, and other sources.
- Develop efficient SQL queries and data transformation processes.
- Ensure data quality, consistency, accuracy, and availability.
- Monitor data pipelines and troubleshoot production issues.
- Optimize data processing performance and infrastructure costs.
- Implement data validation, logging, monitoring, and alerting.
- Work with engineering and AI/ML teams to prepare high-quality datasets for applications and machine learning.
- Participate in system design, technical discussions, code reviews, and documentation.
- Support deployment and maintenance of data systems in cloud or on-premise environments.
- Communicate directly with clients when required to understand requirements and resolve technical issues.
- Collaborate effectively across distributed, fully remote teams.
Requirements
Must Have
- 2+ years of experience in Data Engineering or a related engineering role.
- Fluent English, both written and spoken, is required.
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases.
- Strong Python programming skills.
- Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, or similar.
- Understanding of data modeling, database design, and data warehouse concepts.
- Experience with Git and modern software development practices.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with international clients and distributed teams.
- Ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain productivity in a fully remote environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Experience with Spark, Airflow, Kafka, dbt, or similar data technologies.
- Experience with Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks, or similar platforms.
- Experience with Docker and CI/CD.
- Experience working with large-scale or real-time data systems.
- Experience supporting AI/ML or LLM applications.
- Experience working directly with international clients.
- Experience collaborating across multiple time zones.
