Data Engineer

The Data Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data platforms, integration frameworks, and ETL/ELT pipelines that support enterprise reporting, analytics, operational systems, and AI initiatives. This role works closely with business stakeholders, application teams, data analysts, and architects to ensure reliable, secure, and high-quality data movement across the organization's technology ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have experience with modern data engineering practices, cloud-based data platforms, API-led integrations, and tools such as MuleSoft, Salesforce Data Cloud/Data360, AWS, Snowflake, Databricks, and related technologies.

Responsibilities

Data Pipeline Development
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT processes and data pipelines.
• Build and optimize data ingestion frameworks for structured and unstructured data sources.
• Develop automated workflows to support analytics, reporting, machine learning, and operational data needs.
• Implement data transformation and orchestration processes using modern engineering practices.
Data Platform Management
• Support enterprise data lake, data warehouse, and cloud data platforms.
• Build and maintain data models that support business intelligence and analytics solutions.
• Optimize storage, processing, and query performance.
• Manage data movement between enterprise applications and cloud environments.
Data Governance & Quality
• Implement data quality validation, monitoring, and reconciliation processes.
• Collaborate with data governance teams to establish data standards and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain documentation for data sources, transformations, lineage, and integrations.
Collaboration & Analytics Support
• Partner with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
• Work closely with analysts, architects, and developers to support reporting and dashboard initiatives.
• Assist in troubleshooting data issues and providing root-cause analysis.
• Support enterprise AI and advanced analytics initiatives through reliable data delivery.

Qualifications

Education
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Experience
• 3+ years of experience in data engineering, integration development, or related technical roles leveraging AWS services.
• Experience designing and supporting enterprise ETL/ELT processes.
• Experience working with cloud-based data ecosystems and enterprise-scale data platforms.
• Experience building and supporting API integrations.
Technical Skills
• Strong SQL development and performance optimization skills.
• Experience with AWS ETL/ELT tools and data pipeline frameworks.
• Experience with Salesforce Data Cloud / Data360 or comparable customer data platforms.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS preferred.
• Knowledge of data lakes, data warehouses, and modern analytics architectures.
• Experience with Python, Spark, DataWeave, or other data processing technologies.
• Familiarity with orchestration tools such as Airflow, Step Functions, or equivalent solutions.
• Understanding of REST, SOAP, APIs, event-driven integrations, and microservices concepts.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
Preferred Experience
• Experience with MuleSoft (Anypoint Studio, DataWeave) integration platforms including Mulesoft Developer Certification is a valuable complementary skill.
• AWS Certified Data Engineer – Associate Certification, Snowflake, or Databricks certifications.
• Experience with Salesforce ecosystem integrations.
• Experience supporting AI/ML, predictive analytics, or advanced reporting environments.
• Knowledge of master data management (MDM) and customer data platforms.
• Experience with data cataloging, metadata management, and data lineage tools.
