Data Engineer

Build the data foundation for Synthomer's digital future

At Synthomer, we are accelerating our digital transformation journey. To support this ambition, we are establishing a new Digital Centre of Excellence (CoE) that will drive innovation, advanced analytics, AI, and data-driven decision-making across our global organization.

We're looking for a Data Engineer who thrives on building scalable, high-performing data platforms and enjoys turning complex data landscapes into trusted business assets.

Your impact

As a Data Engineer, you'll be instrumental in creating the data foundation that powers analytics, machine learning, and business insights across Synthomer. Working closely with Data Scientists, Data Translators, Enterprise Architecture teams, and business stakeholders, you'll design and deliver robust data products that enable smarter decisions across our global operations.

What you'll be doing

• Design and develop scalable data pipelines and integrations across multiple enterprise systems and external data sources.
• Build and maintain cloud-based data products using Databricks, Delta Lake, and Apache Spark.
• Create trusted datasets that support analytics, reporting, and AI initiatives.
• Implement data quality, governance, security, and monitoring frameworks.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists to enable advanced analytics and machine learning use cases.
• Drive continuous improvement of our global data ecosystem and engineering standards.
• Contribute to the growth and maturity of our newly established Digital CoE.

What we're looking for

• 3-5 years of experience in Data Engineering.
• Strong expertise in Python, SQL, Databricks, and Apache Spark.
• Experience building ELT pipelines in cloud environments.
• Solid understanding of data modelling, architecture, and governance.
• Experience working with modern data platforms and scalable data solutions.
• A collaborative mindset and strong problem-solving abilities.
