Job Mission 🚀

In the Data team at Tibber, you’ll be a vital part of Tibber’s mission to empower the clever, using data and technology to make it easier for our customers to make smarter energy choices.

We’re already well ahead with agentic analytics. Our AI agents have answered thousands of questions from colleagues, with grounded answers built on our certified data. We also deliver analytical insights straight to our customers.

As a Data Engineer, you’ll take this further. You’ll shape how Tibber’s analytical data is modelled, governed and delivered so that employees, internal agents and customers can all trust the answers they get.

What you'll do ✅

• Build agentic framework for data analysis that let colleagues ask questions in plain language and get correct, well-grounded answers.
  

• Serve analytical data to employees internal agents and external customers through well-defined interfaces (semantic layers, APIs and MCP servers), with the right access controls in place.
  

• Build and maintain scalable, robust, and efficient data pipelines in a modern cloud environment, ensuring our platform reliably supports growing data demands.
  

• Design and develop data ingestion and processing frameworks that streamline the flow of information, delivering timely and accurate data to power insights.
  

• Own and evolve the infrastructure behind our data platform, leveraging emerging technologies to bolster stability, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
  

• Lean in and take ownership beyond what’s asked. Solve problems at the source and scope your work with stakeholders, rather than waiting for a perfect brief
  

• Stay curious about the latest industry trends, offering ideas to refine architecture, scalability, and governance across diverse data use cases.
  

• Iterate and refine workflows based on stakeholder feedback, team insights, and the evolving requirements of a dynamic energy market.

What we're looking for⚡

• Data Pipeline Expertise. A track record of 3+ years building ingestion and transformation frameworks that can handle large, fast-growing datasets with ease.
  

• APIs for Data Serving. Experience designing, building and running APIs that serve analytical data to applications, with attention to performance, reliability, versioning and authentication.
  

• DevOps Know-How. Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, and version control to ensure smooth, automated deployments and maintenance.
  

• Agents & LLMs. Hands-on experience building LLM-powered applications or agents on top of data, including tool use, retrieval, evaluation and MCP. You have a sense for what makes an agent’s answer trustworthy.
  

• Data Modelling. Strong foundations in dimensional modelling, metric definitions and semantic layers. You design data models that are easy for both humans and agents to use correctly.
  

• Security & Compliance. Solid understanding of data privacy regulations, access control and best practices.
