You see the big picture, you’ve always worked on a grand scale, and now you’re ready to re-focus on grand impact.
You're all about the detail and this role will allow you to drive evidence-based decision making to optimise systems and efficiency, not just for the business but for our customers too. It's data and research with impact you can see.
In this role, you'll:
Join the Metro Data Ecosystem team and help build and maintain the data platform that underpins reporting, analytics, and decision-making across one of NSW's largest infrastructure programs.
You will design, develop, test, and support data pipelines, data models, and cloud-based infrastructure that ensure data is reliable, secure, and ready for analysis. Working across the full data engineering lifecycle, you will be involved in data integration, transformation, automation, CI/CD processes, platform maintenance, and troubleshooting. You'll gain broad exposure to modern data technologies, including Azure Data Factory and Databricks, while helping maintain a trusted data platform that serves as a single source of truth for critical business and project information.
The work you do will directly support better decisions on asset performance, project delivery, and operational outcomes, helping deliver greater value for customers and the people of NSW.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Hands on experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Databricks.
- Strong programming and scripting skills in SQL and Python.
- Demonstrated experience in designing databases and developing data models.
- Experience in data cleansing, transformation, and pipeline management.
- Experience supporting DevOps and CI/CD platforms and practices.
- The ability to troubleshoot technical issues and maintain platform performance.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with a commitment to continuous improvement.
Most importantly, you'll be passionate about using data to support informed decision-making and delivering outcomes that make a meaningful impact across Sydney Metro and Transport for NSW.
