Join our team as a Data Engineer in Core Banking & Data Transformation area!

Yes, you can! That's our attitude towards our work, ambitions, ideas, and relationships. We at Luminor believe that anyone has the potential to achieve big things and encourage everyone to achieve them, professionally and personally.

Whoever you are and whatever your role is, with Luminor, you will get a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to build a local banking champion.

We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our team and help transform complex banking data into trusted, business-ready solutions. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys understanding how data flows across systems, from core banking platforms and accounting structures to reporting and analytics. Working closely with business stakeholders, analysts, architects, and engineers, you will design and build scalable data solutions while investigating data challenges end-to-end and turning business requirements into reliable technical implementations.

How You Will Make an Impact:

  • Design and develop reliable data transformations and pipelines supporting banking, finance, reporting, and analytics.

  • Analyze data end-to-end, from core banking/source systems through transformations to downstream consumers.

  • Translate business requirements into data mappings, transformation rules, reconciliation logic, and technical solutions.

  • Develop and maintain data solutions across Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers, ensuring data quality and consistency.

  • Investigate complex data issues across source systems, transformations, warehouses, and reporting.

  • Own changes through the full engineering lifecycle, from analysis and implementation to testing, deployment, and production support.

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, architects, and engineers to deliver scalable and maintainable solutions.

What Makes You a Great Fit:

  • Strong SQL and Python, relational database, data modelling, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT skills.

  • Good understanding of banking/core banking data, particularly accounts, transactions, balances, GL/accounting, and reporting.

  • Hands-on experience building data transformations and working with cloud data platforms, preferably AWS.

  • Experience with Git, CI/CD, testing, and deployment practices.

  • Strong system and data analysis skills, with the ability to understand data flows, dependencies, and business meaning is a strong advantage.

  • Oracle / Oracle FLEXCUBE experience is a strong advantage.

  • Experience with Databricks/Spark, Bronze/Silver/Gold architectures, and BI/reporting environments is an advantage.

  • Strong ownership, analytical thinking, functional curiosity, and the ability to move from an unclear problem to a practical, production-ready solution.

  • Fluent English is required in spoken and written communication due to working on Pan-Baltic level

Why You Will Love Working Here:

  • Gross salary. 4,010-6,010 EUR/month, which is to be determined depending on your level of experience and competencies

  • Flexibility. Flexible working hours, Hybrid work, and the possibility to work from anywhere in the EU, Iceland, Switzerland, and the UK (in total 90 days per year)

  • International teams. Teams that go outside Pan-Baltic borders, where people value challenging work together with good humor and having fun

  • Culture. You’ll be joining a team where things move fast, ideas flow freely, and change is part of the everyday. It’s a dynamic environment that keeps you learning, growing, and never bored

  • More vacation. Additional weeks of vacation are available to all employees who have been in the company for 1 year or more

  • Volunteer time off. We care about giving back to society, therefore, you will get additional days off for volunteering purposes

  • Paid leave. We are proud of our employees who are participating in military training. Therefore, Luminor offers 30 fully paid calendar days for military training every year

  • Health benefits. A competitive benefits package in addition to your salary that includes health insurance after the first 3 months pass in all three Baltic states, as well as Health days in case of your absence due to sickness without a doctor's note needed
