The Impact you will have in this role:
Data Governance Associate Engineer
Applies specialized knowledge in metadata management and data governance to design, develop, and implement enterprise data management capabilities, including Metadata Management, Data Catalog, Data Lineage solutions. Leverages strong technical expertise in BPM workflows, Groovy, Python, SQL, Collibra to build scalable, reliable, automated, and intelligent metadata management and governance solutions across the enterprise.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of related experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
Your Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintain data governance standards, guidelines, procedures, job aids, and best practices.
- Actively review and update governance documentation to reflect emerging industry standards and evolving enterprise needs.
- Partner with stakeholders and end users to enforce governance standards or remediate non‑standard data usage.
- Develop and maintain metadata repositories and enterprise data catalogs.
- Provide guidance to projects and delivery teams on data governance principles and requirements.
- Assist in the identification, documentation, onboarding, tracking, and management of Data Quality Exceptions.
- Coordinate remediation efforts with data owners and data stewards, including evidence collection and validation.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on data quality metrics, KPIs, and trends.
- Design and maintain Power BI governance dashboards.
- Implement automated data quality metrics and KPIs to support transparent reporting and measurement of governance program progress.
Talents Needed for Success:
- 3+ years of experience in metadata management and data governance functions
- 2+ years of development experience in Groovy, Python, and/or UNIX environments.
- 2+ years of experience working with Collibra.
- 1+ years of SQL.
- Strong understanding of data cataloging, metadata management, data lineage, and data controls.
- Familiarity with AI-driven metadata enrichment and automation is preferred.
- Ability to quickly understand and adapt to new tools, platforms, and project requirements.
- Strong documentation skills for both technical and business audiences.
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and multitasking capabilities.
- Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with business, engineering, and leadership teams.
- Strong interpersonal, customer service, and verbal/written communication skills.
- Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum).
- Proven ability to manage timelines and deliverables effectively.
Additional experience in the following areas would be nice to have:
- Working experience with Any other data governance tool is a plus
- Working experience with Ataccama or any data quality tool is a plus
- Working experience with AWS services is a plus
- Working experience with Snowflake is a plus.
- Working experience with Data Ingestion tools is a plus.
