Data Governance Implementation Lead

Adaptfy is growing! At Adaptfy, we are looking for a Data Governance Lead with 5-8 years of experience, to join our Data and Analytics team at our Digital Campus in Porto. What you will do Develop and embed best-in-class data governance processes, frameworks, and expertise within Adaptfy, creating the foundation for SHV Holdings’ businesses. Consult and collaborate with SHV Holdings’ subsidiaries to help them establish, mature, and align their governance initiatives with Adaptfy’s methodologies. Interpret and operationalize data privacy and protection regulations (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, etc.) to ensure compliance and mitigate risks. Act as a bridge to build strong relationships and promote a shared governance vision across Adaptfy and SHV Holdings. Conduct governance maturity assessments and gap analyses, creating tailored roadmaps for SHV businesses. Develop, update, and promote group-wide policies and standards. Facilitate Data Governance Councils and collaborative working groups. Oversee data quality audits and provide remediation recommendations. Lead workshops, training sessions, and stakeholder engagement programs. What you will bring Bachelor’s or master’s degree in CS, Information Management, Data Science, Business Administration, or related field. Outstanding communication skills; ability to translate complex concepts for all audiences. Collaborative and inclusive working style. Adaptability to new technologies and evolving practices. Proven ability to influence stakeholders and lead cross-business initiatives. Advanced analytical, organizational, and strategic thinking; focus on risk identification and mitigation. Minimum of 7 years’ experience in data governance/data management, incl. 3+ years senior/consulting in group/multi-entity orgs. Experience leading change management, training, and engagement across multiple businesses. Visionary approach to building sustainable governance practices. Influence, negotiation, and project management skills to unify Adaptfy and SHV businesses. Nice to have: Professional certifications such as DAMA CDMP, CIPP, or equivalent (highly valued). Expertise in data modeling, architecture, metadata management, and master data management within complex organizations. Hands-on experience with leading governance and quality tools (Collibra, Informatica, Alation, IBM InfoSphere). Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, etc.).
