OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Manager, IT Quality Assurance, the QA Lead owns the quality assurance strategy and execution for a new enterprise data platform that consolidates data from multiple source systems, including SAP and CRM, into a centralized source on AWS. This contract role defines the test strategy, plans, cases, and quality gates required to validate end-to-end data integration and support confident release decisions. The QA Lead directs the QA Tester, oversees defect analysis and resolution across QA and Production environments, and reports testing progress, risks, results, and quality metrics to stakeholders. Success in this role requires an investigative mindset and the ability to interrogate data, identify anomalies, determine root causes, and ensure that the platform meets organizational standards and business expectations for completeness, accuracy, integrity, and reliability.
This 12 month contract requires residency in Canada.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Test Strategy & Planning: Define and own the overall QA strategy, test plans, test cases, and test scenarios for the data integration platform, ensuring comprehensive coverage of interfaces, data flows, business rules, and the consolidated target across SAP, CRM, and other applicable source systems.
- Integration Testing: Lead end-to-end integration testing across source systems such as SAP and CRM, verifying that interfaces, transformations, dependencies, and data flows operate correctly from source through the consolidated platform.
- Data Validation: Design and oversee data validation, reconciliation, and data-quality checks that confirm the completeness, accuracy, and integrity of integrated data. Partner with development teams to investigate discrepancies, reproduce failures, isolate root causes, validate corrective actions, and confirm resolution.
- Team Leadership: Provide direction and mentorship to the QA Tester, coordinate day-to-day testing activities, and ensure alignment on priorities and quality standards.
- Reporting & Quality Gates: Establish measurable entry, exit, and release-readiness criteria across QA and Production environments. Produce reports and metrics that summarize test coverage, execution status, defect trends, unresolved risks, and readiness recommendations to support go/no-go release decisions.
- Stakeholder Communication: Regularly communicate test progress, coverage, risks, and results to project stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment with project goals.
- Defect Management: Lead defect analysis, triage, prioritization, tracking, and resolution across QA and Production environments. Work with development partners to reproduce issues, assess impact, confirm root cause, validate fixes, and communicate unresolved risks.
