6 months Fixed term contract role
- Coordinate the end-to-end testing lifecycle for assigned projects or workstreams within multi-vendor, client and distributed delivery environments, supporting timely delivery of agreed testing outcomes.
- Apply established testing processes across the Software Development Lifecycle, including System Integration Testing, End-to-End Testing, Regression Testing, API Functional Testing and API Test Automation.
- Contribute to improvements in testing processes, methods and ways of working, ensuring testing activities align with agreed quality standards, project governance and operational frameworks.
- Use practical knowledge of testing tools, frameworks and standards to support effective test execution and improve consistency across assigned testing activities.
- Execute testing deliverables in line with agreed schedules, project plans and quality objectives, escalating risks or barriers where required.
- Build effective working relationships with clients, project managers, developers, business analysts, support teams and business stakeholders to support clear communication and collaboration throughout the testing lifecycle.
- Review business requirements, functional specifications, technical designs, integration requirements and business processes to identify testing impacts, risks, gaps and dependencies.
- Prepare and maintain test strategies, test plans, test schedules and test execution approaches for assigned projects or workstreams.
- Coordinate integration shakeout testing and integration validation activities across relevant client test environments.
- Provide functional and technical support for Client User Acceptance Testing and End-to-End testing activities, including defect triage, evidence review and resolution support.
- Coordinate test data activities, including identification, sourcing, validation and provisioning of quality test data across relevant applications and environments.
- Provide day-to-day technical guidance, task coordination and knowledge sharing to junior testers or project team members where required.
- Monitor and manage testing risks, issues, defects and dependencies within assigned scope, escalating and supporting mitigation actions as needed.
- Support resource planning for assigned testing activities by identifying capacity needs, progress constraints and delivery priorities.
- Maintain positive client and stakeholder relationships by providing practical testing advice, accurate updates and responsive support.
- Support team capability through peer coaching, knowledge sharing and the application of quality engineering practices.
- Prepare clear test metrics, status updates, defect summaries and quality insights to support project governance and decision-making.
- Demonstrated experience in software testing, including coordinating or leading testing activities for projects, releases or defined workstreams.
- Strong practical experience across Functional Testing, System Testing, System Integration Testing, End-to-End Testing, User Acceptance Testing and Regression Testing.
- Working knowledge of APIs, middleware technologies, data flows, message-based integrations, enterprise system interfaces and test data requirements.
- Experience preparing and maintaining test strategies, plans, scenarios, cases, reports, closure artefacts, Requirements Traceability Matrices, test metrics, dashboards and risk-based testing analysis.
- Hands-on capability with Oracle SQL, PL/SQL or equivalent database technologies, plus tools such as Postman, SOAP UI, ReadyAPI, OpenText ValueEdge, Zephyr, HP Quality Center, Jira or similar platforms.
- Ability to analyse requirements, investigate issues, identify likely root causes and support timely defect resolution using established procedures and sound judgement.
- Effective planning, estimation, scheduling and coordination skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities across assigned projects or testing streams.
- Clear and concise communicator who can provide practical testing updates, risks, issues and quality insights to clients, business, delivery and technology stakeholders.
- Collaborative and relationship-focused, with experience supporting clients and business stakeholders during UAT and E2E testing cycles.
- Works independently within established frameworks, seeks guidance appropriately on complex or novel issues, and contributes to testing process improvement, knowledge sharing and junior team member guidance.
- Previous experience in Superannuation, Insurance, Banking, Wealth Management or broader Financial Services environments is desirable, as is exposure to platforms such as PEGA, CRM, ERP, Data Warehousing or Data Integration solutions.
Qualifications & Certifications
- Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Business or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- Industry-recognised certifications such as ISTQB, Certified Agile Tester, Agile certifications, ASFA qualifications or other relevant testing, delivery or financial services certifications are desirable.
