Job Description:

OneOncology is seeking a Data Operations Engineer. This position requires professional experience with SQL and Python, as well as solid coding, debugging, and organizational skills. This role monitors and evaluates day-to-day issues with data feeds, ingestion, and pipelines and is responsible for rectifying problems that arise. The role interfaces directly with IT, development teams, technical delivery teams, and vendors to resolve issues, proactively prevent issues, and manage stakeholder needs and requests. The role must be able to work independently in an agile environment.

This is a full-time remote position open to candidates located anywhere within the United States. Team members based in the Nashville, TN area have the option to work from our headquarters office on a hybrid basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor daily data ingestion and pipelines and triage or resolve errors or issues that arise.

  • Monitor the latency of data received and proactively rectify problems by analyzing root causes.

  • Partner with internal colleagues and external stakeholders to ensure clear, timely communication on project milestones, challenges, and outcomes.

  • Resolve data and code problems and requests consistently and quickly, and create plans to educate and mitigate recurring problems.

  • Independently assess and prioritize issues while identifying code or process inefficiencies and proposing actionable solutions.

  • Work efficiently and independently while communicating effectively.

  • Participates in on-call rotation for pipeline/data incidents.

  • Additional responsibilities as assigned to help drive our mission of improving the lives of everyone living with cancer.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • 2+ years of experience using SQL.

  • 1+ years of professional experience using Python.

  • 2+ years of professional experience using databases or data tools.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Databricks, Spark, and Delta tables.

  • Experience with lakehouse and medallion architectures.

  • Experience with data integration/ETL processes and tools such as Azure Data Factory.

  • Experience with healthcare data or regulated data environments

Essential Competencies:

  • Understanding of object-oriented code.

  • Experience with instrumentation, logging and alerting methods and best practices.

  • Proactive approach to problem solving with a strong ability to troubleshoot complex issues.

  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage issues through resolution.

  • Attendance is an essential job function.
