At Synthomer, we're investing in data, analytics, and artificial intelligence to transform how we operate and make decisions. To support this ambition, we are expanding our new Digital Centre of Excellence and are looking for a talented Data Scientist to help drive innovation across the business.

Your impact

As a Data Scientist, you'll transform data into actionable insights, develop advanced analytical solutions, and help shape the next generation of digital capabilities at Synthomer. You'll work alongside Data Engineers, Data Translators, and business stakeholders to develop end-to-end solutions that create measurable value.

What you'll be doing

• Explore, prepare, and refine datasets for advanced analytics and machine learning.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities.
• Develop predictive and prescriptive models using statistical and machine learning techniques.
• Design feature engineering strategies to maximize model performance.
• Communicate insights through visualizations, presentations, and dashboards.
• Deploy machine learning models and monitor performance in production environments.
• Support and promote the use of AI, advanced analytics, and data-driven decision-making across the organization.

What we're looking for

• 2-5 years of experience in Data Science, Analytics, or Machine Learning.
• Strong knowledge of statistics, predictive modelling, and machine learning techniques.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, Databricks, and Apache Spark.
• Experience working with cloud-based analytics platforms.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex insights to business stakeholders.
• A curious mindset and passion for innovation and continuous learning.
