About The Role
The Data Scientist 2 role is a vital position within our organization, acting as an internal business consultant dedicated to optimizing various facets of the company. The successful candidate will leverage data analysis to solve complex business problems, provide actionable insights, and support decision-making processes across multiple departments. This hybrid role requires the candidate to reside within a 100-mile radius of our Coppell, TX office and be available for on-site work three days a week, with additional collaboration days as needed. While primarily remote, the role involves regular reporting to our Costa Mesa, California office for team meetings and strategic discussions. The Data Scientist 2 will engage with stakeholders to identify challenges, pull and analyze data from SQL databases, and visualize findings using tools like Tableau. Collaboration with data engineers and effective communication of insights are essential components of this role, as it directly impacts operational efficiency, cost reduction, error minimization, and overall organizational improvement.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field
- Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation
- Strong experience with Python or R for data analysis and modeling
- Solid understanding of statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, and data visualization
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to translate complex data insights into clear, actionable recommendations
- Experience working collaboratively in a team environment
- Flexibility and adaptability in approaching evolving business problems
- Prior experience with Tableau or similar visualization tools is preferred
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment, with on-site presence as required
- Engage with stakeholders to understand business challenges and define analytical objectives
- Extract relevant data from SQL databases and prepare datasets for analysis
- Analyze data using Python, R, or other tools to identify patterns, trends, and statistical significance
- Develop visualizations and dashboards in Tableau to communicate insights effectively
- Collaborate with data engineers to ensure data quality and integrity
- Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders, facilitating data-driven decision-making
- Refine and adapt analytical approaches based on project needs and stakeholder feedback
- Support ongoing data initiatives and contribute to the development of predictive models or other advanced analytics
- Maintain documentation of methodologies, analyses, and results for transparency and reproducibility
