# Senior Data Scientist – Embedded Deep Learning


## About the Role


Nintendo Technology Development is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to support the development and optimization of neural networks for embedded platforms. This role delivers complex engineering projects end-to-end while proactively identifying opportunities and risks at the module level.


You will work closely with platform engineers to meet model performance and memory constraints, develop tooling and scripts for neural network development, prepare training data, and communicate model quality and performance considerations across teams. The role also includes mentoring other engineers and contributing to the hiring process.


## Key Responsibilities


* Train, evaluate, and optimize neural networks for execution on embedded platforms.

* Work with platform engineers to meet neural network model performance and memory constraints.

* Write scripts that facilitate neural network model development and use.

* Procure, prepare, and clean data required for model training.

* Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams regarding domain-specific knowledge, model quality, and model performance.

* Document engineering work according to defined processes.

* Provide coaching, mentorship, and technical support to other engineers.

* Participate as a key contributor in the engineering hiring process.

* Proactively identify opportunities and risks at the module level.

* Deliver complex engineering projects from end to end.

* Travel domestically and internationally, up to 10%.


## Required Qualifications


* 5–8+ years of professional experience as a Data Scientist.

* 3+ years of professional experience working with deep learning libraries.

* Fluency in Python.

* Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.

* Familiarity with Git workflows.

* Experience with C and/or C++.

* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.

* Ability to work onsite in Redmond, Washington.

* Legal eligibility to work in the United States.

* Ability to work without visa sponsorship, as sponsorship is not available for this role.
