KBC Group provides banking services in 5 European countries.

The international IT solutions of the banking group, covering several European countries, takes place with Hungarian and Belgian colleagues in Hungary and Belgium, therefore not only our services are international, but also our teams.

Our responsibilities range from day-to-day operation to application development and its operation.

We are constantly expanding the Hungarian side of the team, which is why we are looking for enthusiastic, motivated new team members with junior, medior or possibly senior work experience.


Within the Service and Infrastructure (SIN) division, the Cloud Server Provider department focuses on building and maintaining private cloud platforms. Additionally, the Database Team manages Oracle, MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases hosted in Belgian and Central European data centers. The team develops and maintains database services that are essential for a stable and secure IT environment while working closely with application and infrastructure teams to support business needs.

What your job will be:

  • Participate in the automation initiatives the organization is moving towards.
  • Maintain the technical components required to ensure a stable, secure and high-performing Oracle, MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL database environment.
  • Follow security recommendations and best practices to minimize operational risk.
  • Support application and infrastructure teams with operational issues, performance investigations and database-related incidents.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of monitoring, automation and operational processes.
  • Adhere strictly to security policies and compliance requirements, including authorized tools and access management practices.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation and perform planned interventions outside business hours when required.

What we expect from you:

  • Experience in database administration, database engineering or a related IT operations role.
  • Experience working in Linux and/or Windows environments.
  • Basic SQL knowledge and understanding of database concepts (schemas, tables, indexes, backups, recovery, etc.).
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Interest in database technologies and willingness to learn Oracle, MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL platforms.
  • Ability to work under pressure in operational environments and handle incidents in a structured manner.
  • Strong organizational and self-management skills.
  • Team player with the ability to work independently when required.


Nice to have:

  • Experience with Oracle, MS SQL Server or PostgreSQL administration.
  • Exposure to scripting or automation tools (Bash, Perl, Python, Ansible) would be considered an advantage.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) or Checkmk.
  • Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or OCI).
  • Experience with automation, configuration management or infrastructure-as-code concepts.
  • Understanding of database performance tuning, backup and recovery concepts.


What you can expect during the recruitment process:

  • After sending your CV in English, expect a three-round interview process, one online with our local recruiter, one online in English with the Belgian team leader, and the final round is in person at our office in Budapest (in Hungarian) to get to know each other better.
