The organisation has a strong presence across the public sector and is committed to developing long-term expertise within the Databricks ecosystem.
This is more than a standard engineering role. You'll have the opportunity to influence delivery standards, contribute to reusable frameworks and accelerators, and help shape the future direction of a growing Databricks practice.
What You'll Be Doing
- Designing, building and maintaining production-grade data pipelines using Databricks, PySpark and SQL
- Developing modern Lakehouse architectures using Delta Lake, Unity Catalog and medallion frameworks

- Contributing to practice development, internal standards and knowledge sharing
- Helping organisations modernise legacy data platforms and unlock greater value from their data estate.
What We're Looking For

- Commercial experience delivering solutions on Databricks
- Strong hands-on skills with PySpark and SQL
- Understanding of data engineering principles, data modelling and Lakehouse architectures
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP
- Familiarity with source control, CI/CD pipelines and modern software engineering practices
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work directly with clients.
Desirable
- Databricks certifications
- Terraform and Infrastructure as Code experience
- Streaming technologies including Kafka, Event Hubs or Structured Streaming
- Unity Catalog implementation experience
- Experience migrating data platforms from legacy environments
- Previous consultancy or client-facing delivery experience
- Exposure to Databricks AI/ML capabilities.
What's On Offer
- Salary ranging from £65,000 depending on experience
- Fully remote working with occasional client travel
- Clear progression into a specialist Databricks consultancy career path
- Dedicated learning and development budget
- Opportunity to gain certifications and work alongside experienced consultants
- Supportive, collaborative and low-ego culture
- Exposure to large-scale transformation programmes across a diverse client portfolio.
Location
Primarily seeking candidates based in or around Leeds, Manchester and Sheffield, though strong applicants from London, Birmingham and other UK locations will also be considered. Candidates should be willing to travel to client sites as required.
Security Requirements
Due to the nature of the projects, applicants must be eligible for Security Clearance (SC). This typically requires UK nationality or settled status and a minimum of five years' continuous UK residency history.
