[DCJP] Product Packaging Engineer (Supply Chain Management)

Bosch Rexroth Corporation operates the electric servo driver system business, such as hydraulics and FA module components. The company provides products and solutions mainly related to hydraulic and electric drive in a wide range of areas such as construction, general industrial machinery, and FA equipment.

Leveraging the characteristics of high power hydraulic drives and highly efficient electric drives, Bosch Rexroth helps to save energy and clean up exhaust gases in construction machinery and general industrial machinery. Bosch Rexroth is also contributing to higher safety and reliability of machinery. In factory automation module components, Bosch supplies an extensive lineup of components, such as semiconductor manufacturing equipment, to meet needs on the front lines of manufacturing.

This position is responsible for all activities related to supplier, internal and customer packaging. Key role includes the development, approval and maintenance of packaging concepts that optimize transportation and handling of packaging throughout the whole Supply Chain of Bosch Rexroth Japan.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Responsible for creating and designing packaging standards and drawings for all supplier, internal handling and customer-related packaging materials
• Optimize packaging in terms of supplier delivery handling, MOQ, packaging quantities and handling to optimize our Supply Chain
• Initiate and participate in supplier tender processes to optimize packaging costs
• Exchange with global packaging teams within the Bosch Group for packaging-related projects and improvement loops.
• Ensure compliance of packaging within Bosch Rexroth Japan.
• Place requisitions for packaging ordered through spot buys and order “repetitive use” production and Service packaging through blanket PO’s.
• Work with packaging suppliers to resolve any issues (such as package design, design testing, quality problems, internal production concerns, etc) from Unitizing to agreed MOQ volumes.
• Track and process customer/supplier claims.
• Keep up to date with all customers’ ongoing packaging and labeling changes and present any additional cost concerns to management.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering), or equivalent experience needed.
Previous experience of packaging engineering needed.
Demonstrated broad knowledge of methods in package design, testing, and packaging materials

ESSENTIAL SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Language Skills:

• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Decent level of spoken and written English strongly recommended.

Computer Skills:

• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and affiliated software packages. Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word). Must be capable of learning other software packages (Ex: SAP, Test Software)
• Experience in the use of SAP (module MM, PP and SD)
• Previous experience in software for Packaging Drawing and Design
