Delivery Governance Lead

Overview Intersect MBO is the member-based organization that underpins Cardano’s decentralized governance. Formed to ensure that the Cardano ecosystem remains community-led and self-sustaining, Intersect acts as both a convenor and enabler - connecting developers, Delegated Representatives (DReps), project teams, and members to shape the blockchain’s future collectively. Through its committees, working groups, and open membership model, Intersect develops governance frameworks, coordinates ecosystem initiatives, and supports transparency across technical, strategic, and financial domains. Intersect operates independently of IOG, EMURGO, and the Cardano Foundation, while collaborating closely with them to deliver on Cardano’s long-term vision. Intersect is currently administering over 400 million ADA worth of initiatives on behalf of Cardano’s ecosystem and decentralized treasury, while also playing a key role in supporting tier-1 ecosystem integrations and operational coordination across a rapidly evolving governance landscape. At its core, Intersect is about community governance in action, giving the people who build and use Cardano the power to guide its direction. The Role We're looking for a Delivery Governance Lead to help strengthen visibility, coordination, and governance across smart-contract initiatives administered through Intersect. Reporting into the Head of Operations, and leading a small team of Delivery Assurance Partners, this role is suited to someone who enjoys creating clarity in complex environments, building confidence through reliable information, and enabling effective decision-making across multiple stakeholders. You will work closely with technical teams, operational leaders, ecosystem stakeholders, and governance bodies to ensure delivery commitments, dependencies, risks, and progress are clearly understood, appropriately governed, and communicated effectively. This is not a traditional project management role. You won't own delivery execution or technical implementation. Instead, you'll create the visibility, governance, and confidence that enables effective decision-making across some of the Cardano ecosystem's most important initiatives. This role sits at the centre of a fast-moving and highly visible operational environment supporting decentralized governance infrastructure, treasury-backed initiatives, ecosystem partnerships, and evolving technical delivery programmes. This role may particularly suit someone who: Enjoys creating order, visibility, and confidence across complex programmes of work Thrives at the intersection of operations, governance, delivery, and stakeholder management Is comfortable working alongside highly technical teams without needing to own technical delivery Values transparency, accountability, and pragmatic governance over bureaucracy Wants to play a meaningful role in supporting the future direction of decentralized infrastructure and ecosystems As Delivery Governance Lead, you will cover: Delivery Governance & Delivery Assurance Establish and maintain governance frameworks, standards, and practices that support effective delivery oversight Ensure delivery commitments, milestones, dependencies, ownership, and status updates are clearly documented and maintained Provide confidence that agreed governance processes, approvals, and delivery controls are being followed consistently Maintain reliable delivery reporting and assurance mechanisms across multiple initiatives Act as the central point of accountability for delivery visibility, records, and governance artefacts Delivery Coordination & Risk Management Coordinate delivery information across teams, contributors, and external partners Identify delivery risks, blockers, dependencies, and areas of uncertainty before they become larger issues Ensure risks and concerns are appropriately documented, monitored, and escalated Support planning and prioritisation activities by validating the quality and completeness of delivery information Facilitate effective information flow across operational, technical, and governance stakeholders Leadership & Team Management Lead and develop a team of Delivery Assurance Partners Set clear expectations around quality, consistency, judgement, and stakeholder management Allocate workstreams and ensure effective delivery coverage across the team Coach team members on governance, escalation, communication, and assurance practices Foster a calm, trusted, and collaborative team culture focused on accuracy and follow-through Governance Reporting & Executive Support Provide leadership and governance bodies with clear, reliable delivery insights and confidence signals Prepare reporting, updates, and governance artefacts that support effective decision-making Surface material delivery concerns, gaps, or governance risks in a timely and constructive manner Contribute to the ongoing evolution of Intersect's operational maturity, governance practices, and delivery standards Help create an environment where transparency, accountability, and progress can coexist effectively Experience and Attributes Strong experience in delivery governance, programme assurance, PMO leadership, programme management, operational oversight, or related disciplines Demonstrated people leadership experience, including coaching, workload management, and performance support Experience operating within technical, engineering, software, or highly complex delivery environments Strong understanding of delivery governance, reporting frameworks, risk management, and operational controls Proven ability to identify dependencies, risks, and delivery concerns through analysis and information gathering Comfortable working across Operations, Technology, Product, People, and governance stakeholders Familiarity with governance frameworks, audit practices, assurance functions, or portfolio management disciplines Experience working within remote startups, scaleups, technology organisations, nonprofits, or globally distributed environments is highly desirable Additional strengths (this will strengthen your candidacy) Experience supporting software, platform, infrastructure, blockchain, or smart-contract delivery programmes Understanding of blockchain, Web3, DAOs, or decentralized governance models Experience supporting executive committees, boards, or governance bodies Compensation and Benefits As a globally distributed organisation of around 40 employees and contractors, we operate with a flexible and collaborative approach to work, united by a shared passion for supporting the future of the Cardano ecosystem and decentralized governance. This is a remote-first position, with some expectations of travel when required. There is the option to collaborate in person in our London workspace (Tower Hill) if you are based in London. Our Hiring Process The suitable candidate will be selected through a three-stage recruitment process. All interviews will be conducted remotely via Google Meets. Introductory Call: An initial conversation with our People Team to confirm alignment and suitability for the role. Formal Interview: A detailed interview to assess experience and fit from both technical and team perspectives. This will likely include a take-home task to complete and present in this interview.
