Are you a Delivery Lead who knows IT projects are as much about people as they are about plans? Someone who can move from a sprint review to a steering group, and add real value in both?

You have strong IT aptitude. You’re equally at home in waterfall and agile, comfortable running work in tools like Jira and Azure DevOps, and you know how to keep a team of talented consultants pointed at the outcome. Most importantly, you get people — the clients, the sponsors, and the many and varied personalities that make up every IT project.

This is a part-time role (20–25 hours per week), open to permanent part-time or contract, with flexible working.

About us

Equinox IT is a NZ-owned consultancy solving real problems for organisations across Aotearoa. We focus on delivering practical, lasting outcomes and invest heavily in our people.

Why join us

  • Meaningful work with real impact
  • A supportive, experienced team
  • Great opportunities for professional development
  • Genuine flexibility: part-time hours and flexible working arrangements

The role

As a Delivery Lead at Equinox, you’ll lead delivery across a range of clients and challenges, from focused projects to multi-team programmes.

You will:

  • Lead projects end to end, choosing and tailoring the right delivery approach
  • Direct IT consultants and specialists towards clear, agreed outcomes
  • Run work transparently using modern tooling such as Jira, Azure DevOps and Confluence
  • Champion good work practices that help teams deliver consistently
  • Build trusted relationships with client sponsors and stakeholders
  • Track budgets, forecasts and commercials with confidence
  • Write clear, compelling reports, plans and business documents
  • Contribute to our practice through mentoring and knowledge sharing

What you’ll bring

  • Significant experience leading IT projects or being a product owner, or similar roles where IT aptitude is strong
  • A solid understanding of methodologies from waterfall to various forms of agile
  • Hands-on experience developing and managing work in Jira and/or Azure DevOps (ADO)
  • The soft skills to bring diverse personalities together and keep them working well
  • Strong client engagement and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent report and business writing
  • Strong financial acumen

Bonus points for

  • Product ownership experience
  • ITIL or similar service management experience
  • AI experience, whether delivering AI projects or using AI to deliver better

You’ll fit here if you

  • Are curious and keep learning
  • Balance confidence with humility
  • Care about doing great work
  • Collaborate and lift others

What we offer

  • Varied, interesting work across clients
  • Career coaching, mentoring, and training
  • Flexible, part-time working
  • Medical and income protection insurance
