We’re looking for a highly organised and proactive Demand & Resource Planning Consultant to join Nationwide's Websites team. The Websites team is responsible for delivering exceptional digital experiences across the Nationwide website, app and Internet Bank product pages. Our purpose is simple: to ensure customers enjoy a seamless experience every time they interact with us online.
As the Demand & Resource Planning Consultant, you'll play a pivotal role in enabling the successful delivery of work across the Websites team. Acting as the central point for demand, capacity and resource planning, you'll provide the visibility, coordination and insight needed to help teams deliver the right work at the right time, with the right resources.
Working closely with Product Owners, Discipline Leads and key stakeholders, you'll oversee the flow of work across multiple teams, balancing priorities, managing dependencies and ensuring delivery plans remain realistic and achievable. You'll use data and forecasting to anticipate future demand, identify capacity constraints and support informed decision-making, helping the organisation make the most effective use of its resources.
This is an opportunity to shape and continually improve how we plan, prioritise and deliver work, playing a key role in driving operational excellence and enabling the Websites team to deliver greater value for both our customers and the business.
At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible. More rewarding relationships are supported through our hybrid approach, bringing colleagues together across our UK wide estate, whilst also supporting generous access to home working. We value our time in the office to solve problems, to learn, and to feel connected.
For this job, you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part-time, you'll spend 40% of your working time, based at our Swindon or London office. There will also be a requirement to attend a monthly meeting at ones of these sites. If your application is successful, your hiring manager will provide further details on how this works.
You can also find out more about our approach to hybrid working here.
Whilst these locations are where we are primarily looking to fill the role, if you’re an internal applicant based in a different location, we would welcome your application and, if successful, your hiring manager will provide further details on how this could work for this specific role.
Nationwide is committed to the redeployment of our employees impacted by change, as such applications for redeployment candidates will be prioritised in this recruitment process.
If you’re a colleague on long-term absence (for example, on parental leave) or a temporary worker, please use your personal email address to submit an application.
What you’ll be doing
You'll take ownership of demand, capacity and resource planning across the Websites function, ensuring there is a clear and prioritised pipeline of work aligned to business objectives and customer outcomes. Working closely with Product Owners, Discipline Leads and stakeholders, you'll forecast demand, provide visibility of future workload, and help ensure the right resources are in place to deliver key priorities.
You'll play a central role in coordinating planning and prioritisation activities, helping teams understand effort, dependencies and delivery timelines. By monitoring capacity, identifying risks and highlighting resource constraints, you'll recommend solutions that keep delivery on track and support informed decision-making.
Using tools such as Jira, Excel and Power BI, you'll produce meaningful reporting and insights that provide transparency of work, performance and delivery health. You'll also drive consistency across planning, governance and operational processes, helping to improve how the function manages and delivers work.
Alongside planning responsibilities, you'll support day-to-day website operations, including governance forums, change management processes and business reporting. You'll champion continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to simplify ways of working, increase efficiency and enhance the overall effectiveness of the Websites team.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, using data and insight to inform planning and improve performance
- Hands-on experience with planning, reporting and collaboration tools, including Jira, Excel and Power BI
- Excellent communication skills, a continuous improvement mindset, and a passion for finding smarter, more efficient ways of working
