We’re looking for a Demand Planner to join our Procurement & Inventory team, ensuring the right products are in the right place at the right time.

If you’re analytical, commercially aware, and enjoy working cross-functionally to improve service and inventory performance, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

This is a brand new role and an opportunity to shape the accountabilities within it, make a real impact and work with a variety of teams to contribute to our continued growth!

You will be responsible for forecasting product demand across all products, ensuring changes in product lifecycle, seasonality, promotion and sales patterns are all reviewed and proactively reflected in the plan, to deliver high levels of availability and lean stock levels.

The Benefits of a Career with Rexel:

  • Contributory pension scheme and life assurance
  • Bonus scheme: Performance-related annual bonus
  • 33 days annual leave, including bank holidays, increasing over time
  • Option to buy and sell holiday each year
  • Enhanced parental leave
  • Extensive learning and development opportunities from day one
  • Private medical insurance
  • Healthy Mind Champions and wellbeing support
  • Staff discounts, exclusive holiday offers, and free financial support and education

As a Demand Planner, you’ll work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to align forecasts with import schedules and commercial objectives, supporting strong stock availability and efficient inventory performance across the UK network.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Own end-to-end demand planning across the range, balancing criticality, supplier performance, rebate triggers and capacity to deliver a joined-up supply plan.
  • Lead imported-line purchasing (initial buy through BAU ordering), aligned to logistics/branch needs and standard supplier feeds.
  • Align stakeholders and delivery by setting clear assumptions, holding timelines, and maintaining a single version of the plan.
  • Manage product lifecycle and data from launch to exit, keeping product parameters accurate and up to date.
  • Protect inventory health and availability by spotting demand shifts, risks, excess and obsolescence early and driving mitigation actions.
  • Improve performance and ways of working through KPI management (OTIF, lead times, forecast accuracy), promotions/seasonality planning, and supporting new forecasting tools.

At Rexel, we prioritise hiring individuals based on behaviours and potential, rather than requiring specific formal qualifications. The behaviours that will set you up for success in this role include:

  • Collaboration: Building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to achieve shared objectives
  • Takes Accountability: Taking action, overcoming obstacles, and meeting commitments
  • Customer Focus: Building strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions
  • Manages Ambiguity: Adapting approach and demeanour in real time to match changing demands and uncertain situations
  • Decision Quality: Making good and timely decisions that keep the organisation moving forward

Additional skills that will set you up for success include:

  • Strong demand forecasting and data analysis skills
  • Experience working with ERP, MRP, or planning systems such as SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, or specialist planning tools
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills
  • Understanding of international shipping, Incoterms, and customs processes

This is a great opportunity to play a key role in shaping how we forecast, plan, and manage inventory across the business.

If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, solving problems, and collaborating to deliver customer value, we’d love to hear from you.

At Rexel UK, we’re all about welcoming people from different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives because we know that diversity drives fresh ideas and great results.

By coming together as one team, we’re building a high-performance culture that not only drives success but also creates real value for our customers and communities.

Creating an environment where individuality is celebrated and creativity flourishes, we're making sure everyone feels supported and confident to be their best.
