Role Description The Design Intern will support the engineering and design teams in developing formwork, falsework, and scaffolding solutions for construction projects in Hong Kong SAR. This full-time, hybrid role involves preparing and updating technical drawings, assisting with computer-aided design (CAD) models, and contributing to layout and design presentations, with some tasks performed from home. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting research on project requirements and industry standards, helping to visualize and refine design concepts, and organizing design documentation and project files. The intern will collaborate with engineers and project managers, participate in design reviews, and help ensure that designs meet safety, practicality, and cost-effectiveness criteria. The role offers hands-on exposure to temporary works design and an opportunity to learn from experienced professionals in a supportive environment.
Qualifications
- Ability to apply design skills and principles to visualize concepts and prepare clear design layouts.
- Foundational knowledge of construction engineering and temporary works design, with interest in construction or structural engineering.
- Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar) for producing accurate technical drawings.
- Strong Research skills to gather and analyze information on industry standards, materials, and design options.
- Currently studying or recently graduated in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related discipline.
- Attention to detail, good organization skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Comfort working in a hybrid arrangement in Hong Kong SAR, with readiness to visit sites or offices as needed.
