We are seeking an entry-level designer with 1-5 years of interior design experience to work on projects across a variety of markets. This role is ideal for a beginning design professional with a strong track record of working on interior design efforts within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. The successful candidate will bring strong design and interior design skills, and a willingness to learn.

This position offers the opportunity to work across a diverse range of market sectors, including workplace, higher education, K12, civic/cultural, multi-family, and sports/recreation projects.

Candidates in other office locations may be considered

Job Responsibilities

  • Willingness to engage in a fast-paced, energetic, and collaborative team environment
  • Proactive and willing to participate in ideation, research, presentation development, and documentation
  • Support the design and documentation efforts on projects of various scales
  • Develop and implement design concepts, finish palettes, and furniture selections with guidance
  • Produce design and construction documents and coordinate specifications with guidance

Qualifications

  • 1-5 years professional design experience
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in interior design or architecture from an accredited program (required)
  • NCIDQ certification or track to certification (preferred)
  • Strong conceptual and schematic design skills
  • Strong design, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to clearly communicate design ideas through sketching or rendering
  • Proficiency in Revit, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, SketchUp
  • Ability to create and organize graphic presentations and materials
  • Ability to assist in researching, selecting, and specifying materials and finishes
  • Ability to assist with furniture selection
  • Eagerness to continue education/learn
  • Experience in researching, selecting, and specifying materials and finishes

Additional Information

  • Hybrid work schedule with a minimum of 3 days per week in the Columbus, OH office (or other Moody Nolan office if approved)
  • Must be willing and able to travel as needed to support firmwide project priorities
