We are looking for an experienced Developer to join our Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) team within Document and Records Management Services.
The IDP team develops and operates intelligent document processing solutions that transform digitized documents into enriched, validated, and archive-ready records. Our platforms play a critical role in OP's centralized document digitization and archival services. The team builds document processing pipelines that extract, classify, validate, enrich, and route information from a wide variety of complex business documents.
As document volumes continue to grow, and AI capabilities evolve, we are expanding our use of automation, machine learning, and large language models to improve quality, efficiency, and business value.
What you'll be working on
As a Developer in the IDP team, you will design, build, and maintain document processing solutions that support critical business operations.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and maintaining document processing pipelines
- Troubleshooting and resolving production issues
- Participating in technology and architecture decisions
- Collaborating closely with Solution Analysts, business stakeholders, and fellow developers
- Contributing to AI- and document intelligence-related initiatives
You will have an opportunity to work on solutions involving document classification, information extraction, data validation, workflow automation, and user interfaces that support manual processing when fully automated handling is not possible.
The position is located in Helsinki or Oulu. At OP Pohjola, we work in a hybrid model where our ways of working are guided by our customers' needs, our business objectives, and the nature of each role.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for an experienced software engineer who enjoys building modern cloud-native solutions and solving complex business challenges through technology. You have a solid background in software development and are comfortable working across the software lifecycle, from designing and implementing solutions to maintaining and continuously improving them in production.
Experience in enterprise content management, document processing, or other business-critical information systems is highly relevant for this role. We value engineers who combine technical excellence with a practical mindset and can collaborate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
We are looking for experience in several of the following areas:
- 3+ years of software development experience with Java, Python and/or TypeScript
- Building scalable and secure cloud-native solutions on Azure
- Enterprise content management and archival platforms
- PostgreSQL and database design
- Kubernetes and container-based platforms
- REST APIs and system integrations
- Git-based development workflows
- CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Secure software development and engineering best practices
- Good communication skills in both Finnish and English
Experience with MongoDB, automated testing, application monitoring, release management, vulnerability management, Document Intelligence solutions, OCR technologies, and Generative AI or Large Language Models (LLMs) is considered an advantage. We also appreciate experience working in highly regulated environments and familiarity with domains such as document management, information extraction, data quality, business process automation, financial services, or regulatory compliance.
Beyond technical skills, we value a proactive and collaborative approach, strong communication skills, curiosity to learn new technologies, and the ability to balance engineering excellence with business needs.
