Show job description

As Development Manager, you will lead one or two fully remote, cross-functional software development teams responsible for building and evolving OrbusInfinity, our flagship enterprise SaaS product. You will provide clear people leadership and delivery accountability, helping the teams focus on the work that matters most for our customers and the product.

This is a hands-off leadership role: Technical Leads within the teams will own day-to-day technical decisions and help maintain technical standards and best practices. Your focus will be on coaching, guiding and enabling the teams to succeed.

You will help the teams turn product goals into well-designed, maintainable software and deliver value to customers. You will work closely with Product and Engineering colleagues to create an environment of shared ownership, effective collaboration and continuous improvement.

Your focus will be on ensuring that the teams operate within clear, effective delivery processes. You will ensure responsibilities are understood, agreed workflows are followed and engineering best practices are applied consistently, working with Technical Leads, Product Managers and other relevant roles to address process gaps and improve ways of working. Day-to-day backlog and delivery management will remain with the appropriate roles.

You will be a strategic, people-first leader who earns the respect of skilled engineers not by doing their job, but by enabling them to do it brilliantly. This role is suited to an experienced Development Manager with several years of experience leading software development teams. You will bring previous hands-on experience as a software engineer or in another technical engineering role, together with enough technical understanding to ask the right questions, support sound decisions and lead the teams effectively. You will not be expected to be the hands-on technical owner.

You will lead between 6 and 12 direct reports and work closely with Product, Engineering and senior technical leadership. The role is fully remote, based in Poland, with quarterly (max) in-person events bringing together teams from across all regions. You will be employed on a permanent contract (umowa o pracę) with our Polish entity.

Our engineering environment

OrbusInfinity runs natively in Microsoft Azure. Our technology landscape includes modern C#/.NET, React, TypeScript, Cosmos DB, SQL, containers and Kubernetes, with a micro-frontend and microservice architecture deployed continuously to highly available, multi-region infrastructure.

We use Scrum for day-to-day development. Our engineering practices include automated CI/CD, shift-left testing and a focus on maintainable, high-quality code. Dedicated teams support build and release processes through Azure DevOps, Git and Azure.

Why this role matters

Your leadership will help one or two product development teams focus on the work that matters most, while enabling the wider engineering organisation to deliver and evolve OrbusInfinity with greater confidence.

A note on experience

We are interested in the capabilities that will help you succeed, not a perfect match with every tool or background listed above. Strong people leadership, delivery judgement and a solid technical foundation matter most. Specific product, cloud and engineering practices can be learned where the underlying judgement and curiosity are present.
