How you’ll make an impact
Be part of the team driving FCC's cloud and platform transformation, creating the tools, platforms and automation that make software delivery faster, more secure and more reliable.
As a DevOps Developer on our Platform Engineering team, you'll design, build, automate and support the cloud platforms and infrastructure that power enterprise technology across the organization.
You’ll work across cloud infrastructure, CI/CD (continuous integration and continuous deployment) pipelines, automation frameworks, observability platforms, disaster recovery initiatives, and platform modernization efforts. You'll collaborate closely with software developers, system administrators, database administrators, cybersecurity teams, and business stakeholders to improve the developer experience and operational excellence throughout FCC.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to enterprise-scale initiatives while helping shape the future of our DevOps and platform engineering practices.
What you’ll do
- Design, build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Github Actions, AWS CodePipeline) to support the secure, reliable, and efficient delivery of applications and platform services.
- Provision, manage, and automate cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices and tools such as AWS CDK and CloudFormation in Typescript and Python.
- Design, deploy, and support AWS services including EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, Route 53, IAM, Lambda, and related cloud-native services to deliver secure, scalable, and highly available solutions.
- Package, deploy, and support containerized applications and platform services using Docker and AWS container technologies such as ECS and EKS.
- Develop automation, tooling, and operational workflows using Python, PowerShell, Bash, Typescript (Javascript) and related technologies to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Implement and support monitoring, logging, alerting, tracing, and observability solutions using CloudWatch, OpenSearch, and related platform tooling.
- Collaborate with development teams to improve developer experience, deployment processes, operational efficiency, and application reliability.
- Build and maintain reusable platform capabilities, automation frameworks, and self-service solutions that enable teams to deliver software more effectively.
- Support security, governance, and compliance requirements through the implementation of IAM controls, secrets management, encryption, patching, and vulnerability remediation practices.
- Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and problem management activities to improve platform stability and operational resilience.
- Contribute to disaster recovery, backup, business continuity, and resiliency planning initiatives.
- Support platform modernization efforts and continuously identify opportunities to improve automation, scalability, reliability, and operational excellence.
- Troubleshoot complex application, infrastructure, networking, and deployment issues while driving long-term corrective actions.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, architecture diagrams, and platform standards.
- Participate in Agile delivery activities including planning, estimation, technical design discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
