About the Role As a DevOps Engineer at Apertera, you'll spend roughly half your time embedded directly within one of our agile delivery teams - pairing with developers, clearing delivery blockers, and making sure best practices in CI/CD, infrastructure, and observability are built into how the team ships. The rest of your time, you'll own the reliability and delivery pipeline for a service or component of your own, with real autonomy to make it better. This is a hands-on role for someone who likes solving real production problems, automating away repetitive work, and helping teams ship with confidence - not just keeping the lights on, but actively raising the bar for how software gets to production. This role is a remote work from home position. What You'll Do Partner with an embedded delivery team to clear blockers and champion best-practice, on-time releases to production Own the reliability, delivery pipeline, and infrastructure for a defined service or component Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment tooling Manage infrastructure as code and configuration across cloud environments Participate in on-call rotation; monitor, alert on, and resolve production incidents Automate manual, repetitive operational work Build security and compliance practices into pipelines and infrastructure Collaborate closely with software engineers on deployment strategy and production readiness Maintain clear runbooks, documentation, and post-incident write-ups Mentor and support junior engineers on the team What We're Looking For 3+ years of experience in a DevOps, SRE, platform, or infrastructure engineering role Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP) Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar) Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, CircleCI, or similar) Comfort with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) Scripting or programming ability (Python, Bash, Go, or similar) Familiarity with monitoring and observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, ELK, or similar) Solid Linux fundamentals and core networking knowledge Experience participating in on-call rotations and incident response Strong communication skills and comfort working embedded within cross-functional agile teams Security-focused experience (secrets management, vulnerability remediation, compliance frameworks) Nice to Have Experience across multiple cloud providers or hybrid/on-prem environments Prior experience mentoring other engineers Relevant certifications (AWS, CKA, Terraform Associate, or similar) What Apertera Offers Benefits & Perks You’ll Love: Comprehensive Health Insurance: Including vision, dental, complementary therapies, and support for your overall well-being.
