About the Role

This is a hands-on DevOps engineering role for someone with Kubernetes architectural depth, rather than surface level experience of managed container services. You will build and operate the platform, own the deployment path into it, and act as a credible technical point of contact for the engineering teams using it.

Depth of Kubernetes knowledge is the priority for this role. Candidates who can explain how the platform works, not only how to use it, will stand out.

Responsibilities

  • Build, operate and improve Kubernetes platforms across Azure, AWS and Mirantis.
  • Own and evolve GitOps-based deployment workflows using FluxCD and Kustomize.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, including GitHub Actions.
  • Implement and maintain observability and alerting across Dynatrace, Splunk, Grafana and Prometheus.
  • Diagnose and resolve platform, cluster, networking and pipeline issues, working to root cause.
  • Support and advise application teams on deployment patterns, cluster configuration and platform standards.
  • Contribute to automation, documentation and repeatable operational practice across the environment.
  • Work as part of a distributed team, maintaining a strong daily overlap with New York and Toronto.

Required Skills

  • Kubernetes architectural depth; a fundamental understanding of the control plane, networking, scheduling and storage, not only usage of managed services.
  • Hands-on experience across cloud and container platforms: Azure, AWS and Mirantis.
  • Strong GitOps experience, specifically FluxCD and Kustomize.
  • CI/CD pipeline experience, including GitHub Actions.
  • Observability and monitoring experience across Dynatrace, Splunk, Grafana and Prometheus.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to work directly with engineering and infrastructure stakeholders across time zones.
  • Availability to work North American-friendly hours: a later European start, remaining online until 2pm New York / Toronto time.

Preferred Skills

  • Prior experience within the client’s environment, particularly Helios and GitHub Actions, a significant advantage.
  • Experience in capital markets or another regulated financial services environment.
  • Infrastructure-as-code and platform automation experience.

This role offers the opportunity to work on the cloud and container platform behind a tier-1 investment bank’s capital markets technology estate, alongside experienced platform and infrastructure engineers across Europe and North America
