DevOps Engineer

The team focuses on simplifying digital fundraising operations for organizations in both USD and CAD markets.

Role Description The DevOps Engineer role at Ideali is a full-time remote position focused on building, maintaining, and improving the cloud infrastructure that powers our fundraising platform. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and implementing infrastructure as code, automating deployment pipelines, managing CI/CD workflows, and monitoring system performance and reliability. The DevOps Engineer will collaborate with software developers to streamline code integration, optimize application delivery, and ensure secure, scalable environments. The role also involves managing Linux-based systems, troubleshooting production issues, enhancing observability, and contributing to operational best practices and documentation.

Qualifications

• Strong Infrastructure as Code (IaC) skills with experience using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar to define and manage cloud resources.
• Solid Software Development and Continuous Integration experience, including scripting or programming (e.g., Python, Go, or Node.js) and working with CI tools like GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
• Hands-on System Administration and Linux expertise, including managing servers, configuring services, handling networking basics, and ensuring security and performance.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure), containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), and monitoring/logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or similar).
• Familiarity with security best practices in DevOps, including secrets management, access control, backups, and disaster recovery procedures.
• Ability to work autonomously in a remote environment, collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, and communicate clearly in written and spoken English.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; prior experience supporting SaaS or high-availability platforms is a plus.
