Is this job info correct?

We’re looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to help us build, run, and scale the infrastructure behind both our (Creative Automation and Creative Enablement) products.

If you’re curious about how things work under the hood, enjoy solving complex infrastructure challenges, and are always looking for smarter and more reliable ways to build and operate systems, you’ll feel right at home. We’re looking for someone who enjoys learning, experimenting, and working with modern cloud-native technologies - and isn’t afraid to dig deep when something doesn’t behave as expected.

What you’ll do?

You will be part of our DevOps team, which is responsible for our product’s availability, latency, performance, efficiency, monitoring, emergency response and capacity planning. Your responsibility will be:

  • Design, develop and maintain software that handles running, deploying, scaling, and monitoring of our products.
  • Establish design patterns and best practices for enabling new product features in a scalable and reliable way.
  • Verify and help developers apply those patterns and participate in early stages of feature design, when needed.
  • On-call a portion of your time to get your hands dirty and gain experience.
  • Co-owning the production environment and willing to be in the trenches with developers to diagnose issues and hunt down elusive bugs.
  • SLA is your law, uptime objectives are met by participating in controlling the risks and rate of change in collaboration with the whole engineering department.

What are the challenges ahead?

Our platforms are 2 giant machines which are deployed multiple times per week. Even though we want the changes to come into production fast, they still need to be stable.

Besides that we want our developers to be productive and spend more time on quality features and less on hitting infrastructure caused roadblocks. Our DevOps team is responsible for our software to be up and running under provided SLA constraints.

What kind of infrastructure stack do we have?

We are running our infrastructure in the AWS cloud - specifically on the managed Fargate ECS service. Our application is containerized in Docker images then deployed through CloudFormation using the AWS CDK. It mainly consist of:

  • hundreds of services scaled automatically,
  • tens of real-time services handling hundreds of thousands requests every minute,
  • different databases, like MySQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, Postgres, etc.,
  • monitoring services, like Prometheus, Grafana, ...

Who are You?

  • Have at least 1-2 years of experience with developing/managing infrastructure using modern development processes.
  • Have experience with at least one programming language such as, PHP, Typescript (JS), Golang, Scala, etc.
  • Have an understanding and experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL) and/or No-SQL databases (e.g., Mongo).
  • Experience with debugging and profiling in a production environment.
  • Willingness to learn, and help us learn too.
  • Be fluent in written and spoken English.

We appreciate:

  • Some interest in or having experience with cloud computing (AWS, Google, Azure, …).
  • Experience with containerization in production environments.
  • Be open to collaborating in the tech community.
