DevOps & Platform Engineer

We are looking for an experienced DevOps & Platform Engineer to join our Bucharest team. In this role, you will drive high-impact platform initiatives, including:

• Enterprise CI/CD Migration: Transitioning global engineering teams from vendor-based Jenkins setups to a custom, in-house built platform.
• Global Developer Tooling: Designing, deploying, and maintaining enterprise tools scaled for 30,000 software engineers.

Location: Bucharest, Romania (Hybrid - Mandatory 3 days/week on-site at client office)

Contract Model: B2B Collaboration (Independent Contractor)

• Administer, configure, and continuously improve engineering applications and development platforms, including user requests, incidents, and functional troubleshooting;
• Design, develop, and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) for fast, reliable, and secure software delivery across multiple environments;
• Automate application provisioning, configuration, and scaling using Ansible, Terraform, and Configuration as Code (CaC) principles;
• Deploy, operate, and improve containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm;
• Build lightweight backend automation scripts (Python, Bash) to automate self-service operations and triggers (e.g., via ServiceNow APIs);
• Ensure the scalability, performance, availability, and reliability of large-scale platforms supporting 10,000+ active users;
• Investigate complex platform and application issues through structured troubleshooting, L3 escalation, and root-cause analysis;
• Integrate security best practices throughout the software development and deployment lifecycle;
• Document platform architecture, configurations, and operational procedures to ensure maintainability and operational excellence;
• Collaborate with international software engineers, system administrators, and cross-functional R&D teams to improve ALM tooling and the overall developer experience.

• 4+ years of professional experience in DevOps, SysOps, CloudOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or a comparable highly technical role;
• Mandatory IaC Tools: Advanced hands-on experience with Ansible (configuration management) and Terraform (cloud/hybrid infrastructure provisioning);
• Mandatory Orchestration: Practical experience deploying and managing containerized applications using Kubernetes, Helm, and Docker;
• CI/CD Expertise: Strong practical experience writing, maintaining, and migrating pipelines in Jenkins and GitHub Actions;
• Strong scripting and automation skills using Bash and working knowledge of Python for backend automation;
• Solid knowledge of Source Code Management systems, particularly Git / GitHub;
• Practical experience working across cloud-based and on-premise infrastructure in large-scale environments;
• Ability to perform structured incident triage, root-cause analysis, and prioritize technical support activities effectively;
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with a rigorous and methodical engineering approach;
• Clear communication skills, professional working proficiency in English, and the ability to collaborate effectively with international teams;
• Industry Background: Open to candidates from any technical domain (Fintech, Banking, Telecom, Enterprise IT). Prior semiconductor or automotive experience is not required.

• Experience supporting Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) platforms or participating in legacy CI/CD platform migrations;
• Familiarity with ServiceNow integration workflows and automated event triggers;
• Industry certifications such as Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or HashiCorp Terraform Associate;
• Knowledge of test automation integration, continuous monitoring platforms, and modern developer tooling;
• Familiarity with software security, vulnerability management, or security compliance frameworks.
