DIGITAL AND INNOVATION EXECUTIVE / POWER BI CHAMPION

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES To support Human Resources’s digitalisation and innovation agenda by identifying, designing and implementing practical digital solutions that improve operational efficiency, data visibility, user experience and business decision-making across functions and business units. The role acts as a bridge between business stakeholders and digital solution by translating process pain points into workable digital tools, automation workflows, dashboards and user-focused solutions, while ensuring alignment with SGS standards, information security, data privacy, HSE requirements and the SGS Code of Integrity. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITES Support the planning, coordination and delivery of digitalisation, workflow automation and innovation initiatives across SGS Malaysia, ensuring alignment with business priorities and measurable efficiency outcomes. Work with business units and functions to map current processes, identify manual or repetitive tasks, analyse bottlenecks and recommend practical digital solutions using appropriate tools such as Microsoft Power Platform, Power BI, SharePoint, Excel automation and other approved technologies. Design, develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports and data visualisations to provide reliable, real-time insights for management and business stakeholders. Gather user requirements, prepare simple business requirement documents, user stories, process flows and test scenarios, and translate them into clear functional specifications for solution development or enhancement. Build and refine low-code / no-code applications, forms, approval workflows, data capture tools and digital interfaces to improve user experience, reduce manual tracking and support standardised working processes. Collaborate with internal IT, data owners, business process owners and external vendors where applicable to integrate digital tools with existing systems, data sources and operational workflows. Support pilot testing, user acceptance testing, deployment and post-implementation review of digital solutions, ensuring issues are captured, resolved and documented. Provide user training, guidance materials and change support to encourage adoption of digital tools, dashboards, automation workflows and AI-enabled productivity solutions. Track digital project progress, benefits, adoption, risks and lessons learnt, and prepare updates or reports for management review. Monitor digital, automation, AI and data analytics trends and propose pragmatic use cases that can enhance productivity, service quality, compliance, customer experience and operational transparency. Maintain proper documentation for developed solutions, including process maps, access controls, data definitions, user guides and support procedures. PROFILE Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Information Systems, Digital Business, Engineering, Business Administration or a related field. Preferably 2 years of experience in digital transformation, business process improvement, systems / application support, data analytics, automation, project coordination or innovation-related roles. Fresh graduates with strong digital project exposure, internship experience or relevant certification may also be considered. Experience in business requirement gathering, process mapping, dashboard development, workflow automation, user testing and stakeholder coordination will be an advantage. Exposure to testing, inspection, certification, laboratory, manufacturing, engineering, consulting or other process-driven industries will be an added advantage. Strong interest in practical innovation, digital adoption, data-driven decision-making, continuous improvement and change enablement. REQUIRED SKILLS Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365 tools, especially Excel, SharePoint, Teams and Forms; hands-on knowledge of Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps or similar platforms is highly desirable. Ability to analyse data, identify trends, develop dashboards and convert insights into practical recommendations for business users. Understanding of business process mapping, workflow design, user requirements gathering, user acceptance testing and basic project coordination. Familiarity with SQL, APIs, data modelling, DAX, Python, RPA tools, AI productivity tools, UI/UX design, Figma, HTML/CSS/JavaScript or web application concepts will be an advantage. Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, attention to detail and ability to simplify complex processes into user-friendly digital solutions. Good communication, documentation and presentation skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Self-driven, curious, adaptable and comfortable working across multiple functions and priorities. Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia.
