Job Description:

Digital Archive Coordinator will contribute original writing and curation to the Department of Egyptology and Assyriology's digital archive, The Richard Parker Papers.


This is a seasonal/intermittent position ending on or before December 31, 2026, depending on funding and/or satisfactory work performance.


● Writes original content about digital archive records for publication on Omeka site

● Metadata creation, editing, analysis, and transformation

● Collaborates with Center for Digital Scholarship staff and Humanities Subject Librarian Micah Saxton

● Creates data dictionary (documentation) for digital archive

● Curates collections of material from digital archives for exhibits on Omeka site

● Meets regularly with project manager to define tasks and goals, and ensure alignment with intended outcomes

● Completes data entry and code required to launch Omeka site


Education and Experience:

● Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education/experience.

● Manages and utilizes software tools including Excel, Word, Adobe Suite, Google Suite; requires knowledge of data structure, value, content, and exchange standards.

● Prepares organize digital archive records into collections, and can contribute meaningful content about the collection for publication online.

● May be required to create content for social media, and for publication on the department’s website.
