Digital Marketing & Creative Content Officer

Reporting to: Head of Marketing & Communications

Location: Hybrid / Remote across Ireland, with access to Kinia's Dublin or Galway hub

Contract: Full-time contract


Role Overview

Kinia is looking for a creative, digitally savvy and values-driven Digital Marketing & Creative Content Officer to help grow our digital presence and tell the story of Kinia's impact across Ireland. Reporting directly to the Head of Marketing & Communications, you will play a hands-on role across social media, digital content, email marketing, campaigns and storytelling. You will create engaging, accessible and relevant content that connects with young people, educators, youth workers, partners, funders and wider audiences, helping to bring Kinia's mission and impact to life. This is an opportunity for a creative self-starter who enjoys experimenting with digital content, understands what makes people stop, watch, read and engage, and wants to use those skills to create positive social impact.


Language:

We are particularly interested in candidates who can help us strengthen our bilingual communications and digital presence. Professional fluency in Irish is highly desirable, particularly the ability to create, present and engage confidently in both Irish and English. We are also open to candidates with strong digital communications skills who have conversational Irish and are committed to developing their Irish-language capability.


Key goals:

  • Increase the visibility, reach and engagement of Kinia's work across digital channels.
  • Tell compelling stories that demonstrate the impact Kinia has on young people and their communities.
  • Support effective communications with funders, partners, educators and other stakeholders through impactful storytelling and content creation.
  • Use audience insight, analytics and experimentation to continuously improve our digital communications.


Key Responsibilities:


Social Media & Digital Engagement:

  • Plan, create, schedule and publish engaging content across Kinia's social channels, including LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.
  • Maintain a forward-looking content calendar aligned with campaigns, events, partnerships, social enterprise activity and key dates.
  • Monitor community engagement and respond appropriately to comments, messages and opportunities for engagement.
  • Develop ideas for content that increases reach, engagement and awareness of Kinia's work.
  • Monitor social media trends and emerging formats and identify opportunities for Kinia to participate in relevant conversations.
  • Analyse social media performance and provide regular insights and reports with actionable recommendations.


Content Creation & Storytelling:

  • Gather and translate programme data, participant feedback, and success stories into engaging digital communications.
  • Develop and produce impact stories that showcase the real world difference Kinia makes for young people and their communities
  • Research, write and edit compelling blog posts and articles for kinia.ie
  • Attend schools and youth services to capture content
  • Attend key events throughout the year to capture content, and ensure brand presence online during the events themselves
  • Work with our designer to create and repurpose content across formats including video scripts, reels, infographics, newsletters, as needed
  • Help ensure Kinia’s impact and achievements are consistently visible across all communications channels.
  • Ensure all content is on brand, accessible, and optimised for search and reach


Email marketing:

  • Design, write, and send monthly ezines to targeted Kinia audiences
  • Manage email marketing lists, tagging, and segmentation
  • Track open rates, click-through rates, and conversions, and continuously report on and improve performance


Podcast & Audio/Video Content:

  • Support the development and promotion of the bilingual Kinia Podcast.
  • Research and prepare podcast episodes and support guest outreach, scheduling and briefing.
  • Host podcast episodes where appropriate, bringing warmth, curiosity and authenticity to conversations.
  • Work with external production partners on recording, editing, publishing and post-production.
  • Develop supporting content including show notes, transcripts, clips and social promotion.


Podcast production experience is desirable but not essential; training and support will be provided where required.


Essential Skills & Experience:

We are looking for someone who combines strong digital and creative skills with excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.


  • 3+ years' relevant experience in digital marketing, communications, content creation or a related role.
  • Proven experience creating engaging digital content and managing social media channels.
  • Excellent writing, editing and storytelling skills.
  • Strong understanding of digital audiences and what drives engagement across social platforms.
  • Experience creating content across multiple formats, including written, visual and short-form video content.
  • Experience with email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp or equivalent.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Confidence working independently while also collaborating effectively with colleagues and external partners.
  • Genuine interest in Kinia's mission and in creating positive social impact.
  • Full drivers licence


Irish language:

Professional fluency in Irish is highly desirable.


For candidates with professional Irish-language capability, this may include the ability to:

  • communicate confidently with colleagues, partners and audiences in Irish;
  • create or adapt digital content in Irish;
  • conduct interviews and conversations through Irish;
  • present or host content in Irish;
  • contribute to the development of Kinia's bilingual communications.


We also welcome candidates who do not currently have professional fluency but have conversational Irish and a strong commitment to developing the language and working in a bilingual environment.


Candidates will not be expected to have specialist knowledge in every area listed above. We are particularly interested in people with strong core digital and creative skills who are curious, adaptable and willing to learn.


Desirable:

  • Professional fluency in Irish.
  • Experience working in a non-profit, social enterprise, education, youth or community environment.
  • Experience hosting or supporting podcasts.
  • Experience creating short-form video content.
  • Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or similar.
  • Photography, filming or audio-production skills.

What Kinia Offers:


Pension Scheme

After successful completion of probation, all Kinia staff members are eligible to join our PRSA pension scheme, administered through New Ireland. Staff must contribute a minimum of 5% of their gross monthly salary, with Kinia matching this up to the value of 5%.


Hybrid Friendly Workplace

Kinia operates a hybrid-friendly workplace. Many of our staff are based around the country. Kinia supports all staff to access remote working hubs, our Dublin office, or our Galway office. Expectations of Travel will be required.


Kinia provides financial assistance to all staff to ensure they have the furniture and IT equipment needed when working from home.


Annual Leave & TOIL for full time staff

23 days annual leave, plus an additional 2 days for Company Days

Kinia operates a Time Off in Lieu (TOIL) for four hours+ worked in one day. This can be added to your annual leave allocation.


Expense Allowance

Kinia provides travelling expenses, accommodation allowance, and subsistence allowances for any travel that is required as part of the role. Additionally, Kinia provides all staff with a monthly phone allowance, as well as a once-off allowance to purchase a work phone.


EAP (Employee Assistance Programme)

Kinia has an EAP in place and can work closely with any employees who need to avail of this.

Salary:

The salary will reflect the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills and level of professional Irish-language capability.
