About Pleny

Pleny is a food social networking and restaurant discovery app, live across the UAE, KSA, and Egypt on iOS, Android, and web. We're building the place people go to find their next meal — and the community of foodies who make that discovery worth having.

We're now building out our content engine: long-form food review videos, a growing YouTube channel, and a network of food creators across the Gulf.

The Role

We're looking for a Digital Marketing Specialist who is equal parts writer, producer, and community builder. You'll own the scripts behind our food videos, direct what gets shot, and then make sure that content actually travels — across every channel we're on, in both the UAE and Saudi markets.

This is a hands-on role. You'll be writing, posting, briefing shoots, and DM'ing creators — often in the same day.

What You'll Do

Write the videos

• Script 15-minute food review videos in a fast-paced, BuzzFeed-style format — punchy hooks, clear structure, personality throughout
• Build episode formats and recurring segments that people come back for
• Write in a voice that lands with both UAE and Saudi audiences

Direct the production

• Turn each script into a full shoot brief for the videographer: shot lists, camera direction, framing, and pacing
• Specify b-roll requirements — dish close-ups, prep shots, kitchen action, ambience
• Call out sound design needs: sizzles, chops, pours, room tone, music beats
• Plan and attend shoots on location — restaurants, kitchens, and prep areas

Market the app

• Run Pleny's presence across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, Snapchat, and LinkedIn
• Post consistently — build and hold to a content calendar that keeps all channels active
• Cut and adapt long-form video into shorts, reels, and platform-native clips
• Write copy, captions, and hooks that drive installs and engagement

Grow the creator community

• Build and manage a network of food influencers across the UAE and KSA
• Handle outreach, onboarding, briefs, and ongoing relationships with creators
• Run collaborations, campaigns, and creator-led content that puts Pleny in front of new audiences

Measure and improve

• Track performance across channels and report on what's working
• Use the data to sharpen scripts, formats, posting times, and creator partnerships

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years in digital marketing, social media, or content production — ideally with food, lifestyle, or consumer app brands
• A portfolio of video scripts or short-form content you've written and can talk us through
• Genuine fluency in how content performs on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube — not just theory
• Fluent Arabic and English, with the ability to write natural, native-sounding copy in both
• Strong understanding of the UAE and Saudi food scenes and what resonates with each audience
• Comfortable on set: briefing a videographer, adjusting on the fly, and keeping a shoot moving
• Organised enough to run a content calendar across multiple channels without dropping things

Bonus Points

• Experience with paid social campaigns
• You know the Gulf food scene well enough to argue about it
