Digital Solutions Specialist - Fixed term for 12 months

We're looking for a hands-on digital solutions specialist to build, configure, test and roll out practical solutions across the Victorian Public Sector Commission's business systems and digital platforms.

As the Digital Solutions Specialist, you'll translate agreed business requirements into configured solutions, including fields, forms, workflows, permissions, templates, validation rules, notifications and reporting. You'll work closely with project leads, subject matter experts, users, vendors and technical partners to deliver secure, accessible and user-focused solutions that support successful adoption.

What you’ll do

Lead the build, configuration, testing and rollout of solutions across designated projects

• Translate agreed business requirements into configured fields, forms, workflows, permissions, templates, validation rules, notifications and reporting

• Build, configure and administer business systems and configurable platforms, including Freshworks, Salesforce and Microsoft products, customer relationship management, mailing, event and other business applications

• Plan and undertake testing, diagnose and resolve defects and implementation issues, and support release planning, deployment and early-life support

• Work with users, vendors and technical partners to resolve issues, manage dependencies, prepare guidance and training materials, and support adoption and knowledge transfer

• Identify and implement opportunities to simplify processes, reduce manual effort and improve data quality while meeting security, privacy, accessibility, records management and systems governance requirements

Who we’re looking for

We welcome applications from professionals who model the Victorian public sector values

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys turning business requirements into practical digital solutions and can combine hands-on platform configuration with strong problem-solving and stakeholder skills.

  • Demonstrated experience building, configuring and administering business systems or configurable digital platforms in a complex organisational environment.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills, including the ability to learn unfamiliar systems and explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
  • Experience supporting project delivery, testing, releases and implementation activities while managing risks, issues and changing priorities.
  • Strong critical thinking, continuous improvement and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with platforms such as Freshworks, Salesforce, Microsoft 365, Power Platform, customer relationship management, enquiry management, email marketing or online event delivery systems will be highly regarded.
  • Experience working with third-party vendors, service providers or whole-of-government technology partners will be highly regarded
  • A relevant qualification or industry certification in information technology, digital systems, business applications or service management will be highly regarded.

The Victorian Public Sector Commission plays a key role in stewardship of the public sector. It works to strengthen the efficiency, effectiveness and capability of the public sector and maintain, and advocate for, public sector professionalism and integrity. Why you should join us

You'll join the Data and Digital Services branch and work within the Digital Infrastructure and Service Management team, which manages ICT and oversees digital services that support the Commission's public engagement and operational effectiveness. You'll contribute to the continuous improvement of important digital platforms and help deliver solutions that are user-centric, secure and technically robust.

We offer:

  • Learning and development opportunities
  • Employee assistance program and wellbeing initiatives
  • Inclusive work environment, including workplace adjustments
