The group you’ll be a part of

The Customer Support Business Group focuses on enabling our customers with premier customer support throughout their lifecycle with Lam. We drive performance, productivity, safety, and quality of customers installed base performance and deliver service and lifecycle solutions for their most critical equipment and processes.

The impact you’ll make

This role will transform preventative maintenance expertise into standardized procedures, training programs, knowledge assets, and scalable service offerings that improve tool performance, reliability, uptime, and customer productivity. The Director will work closely with Engineering, Product Support, Field Service, and Services Product Management to establish best-known methods, enable field readiness, and develop differentiated preventative maintenance solutions that support Services growth.

What you’ll do

  • Develop and standardize preventive maintenance, chamber cleaning, and equipment health methodologies.
  • Establish and maintain SOPs, work instructions, best-known methods, and preventative maintenance playbooks.
  • Lead knowledge capture and transfer to field experts to ensure global consistency and scalability.
  • Design and deploy training and certification programs for field service and support organizations.
  • Drive adoption of preventative maintenance best practices across regions and customer sites.
  • Partner with engineering and field service organizations to improve equipment reliability, availability, and lifecycle performance.
  • Identify opportunities to commercialize PM methodologies into service products, contracts, and value-added offerings.
  • Utilize maintenance and performance data to drive continuous improvement and predictive maintenance strategies.

Who we’re looking for

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 10+ years of experience in semiconductor equipment, service engineering, product support, reliability engineering, or related areas, and 5+ years in management. An advanced degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience developing technical procedures, maintenance standards, and training programs.
  • Strong understanding of equipment reliability, preventive maintenance, and installed base support.
  • Proven ability to lead global cross-functional teams and influence across organizations.
  • Experience translating technical capabilities into customer value and business growth.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
