Job Summary

The Director, Accounts Receivable Contracts is responsible for overseeing the management, compliance, and optimization of accounts receivable processes related to contract terms and payer agreements. This role ensures the alignment of accounts receivable practices with organizational goals and regulatory requirements, identifies opportunities for process improvements, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to enhance financial performance. The Director leads a team to monitor contract adherence, resolve discrepancies, and support revenue cycle objectives.

Essential Functions

  • Develops and implements strategies to manage accounts receivable processes related to payer contracts, ensuring compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements.
  • Oversees the review and resolution of accounts receivable discrepancies, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Monitors accounts receivable metrics and key performance indicators, providing leadership with regular reports and recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborates with revenue cycle, finance, and legal teams to address payer contract issues, negotiate terms, and optimize reimbursement.
  • Leads process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of accounts receivable operations.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to the accounts receivable contracts team, ensuring professional development and alignment with departmental objectives.
  • Prepares and presents performance reports, data analyses, and compliance updates to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Maintains strong relationships with external payers, acting as a liaison to resolve issues and improve payer interactions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required
  • 5-7 years of experience in accounts receivable, revenue cycle management, or related roles required
  • 2-4 years of leadership or management experience required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Comprehensive knowledge of accounts receivable processes, payer contracts, and healthcare regulatory requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills for identifying trends, resolving discrepancies, and optimizing processes.
  • Leadership and team management skills to guide staff and drive departmental success.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills for interacting with payers, stakeholders, and executive leadership.
  • Proficiency in financial systems, reporting tools, and accounts receivable management software.

The Payment Compliance and Contract Management (PCCM) team plays a critical role in ensuring that payments are made according to contractual agreements and regulatory requirements. The team oversees the full contract lifecycle, focusing on analyzing reimbursement discrepancies, improving revenue cycle processes, and ensuring compliance with contract terms to support financial accuracy and operational efficiency.
