Director - AI Engineering

About the Role We are looking for a Director, who is deeply technical with strong lived experience across software engineering, cloud-native architecture, AI systems, and AWS ecosystems. You are also very comfortable in pre-sales and have a deep understanding of professional services. This is a leadership role responsible for helping customers modernise platforms, accelerate software delivery, and operationalise AI at enterprise scale. You will lead technical strategy sessions, shape complex solution architectures, and oversee the successful delivery of customer engagements. You are equally comfortable discussing software engineering patterns, cloud architecture, platform modernisation, GenAI applications, and enterprise delivery models with technical teams and C-level stakeholders. As a Director, you are both a technical and people leader, with credibility across the engineering community, customer executive stakeholders, and the AWS partner ecosystem. You bring a strong balance of pre-sales, delivery leadership, commercial acumen, and thought leadership, helping customers move from strategy to production outcomes. You will have broad expertise across: Software Engineering, AI & GenAI, Cloud-Native Architecture, AWS, Platform Engineering, DevOps, Modern Application Development, AI Engineering, Security, and Enterprise Transformation. What You'll Own Advising customers on software, platform, cloud, and AI strategy Leading solution architecture and technical design workshops Designing and overseeing delivery of enterprise-scale software and AI solutions Acting as a trusted technical advisor across AWS, software engineering, and AI transformation Leading the successful delivery of engagements and mentoring teams on those engagements Driving technical pre-sales, solution shaping, and opportunity qualification Scoping complex programs of work and providing realistic estimations, delivery models, and commercial guidance Building strong relationships across the AWS partner ecosystem and customer stakeholders Collaborating with marketing and practice leads to produce external-facing thought leadership, accelerators, blogs, demos, and technical collateral Acting as a public-facing technology leader, speaking at conferences, meetups, podcasts, and customer events Helping attract, interview, and mentor future technical talent into the business Contributing to the development of internal engineering standards, reusable accelerators, AI capabilities, and delivery IP Requirements Leadership & Commercial Proven experience leading large-scale enterprise software, cloud, and AI transformation programs Strong leadership & mentorship capability with experience guiding high-performing technical teams Demonstrated success in technical pre-sales, solution shaping, and enterprise customer engagement Experience scoping, estimating, and structuring complex Statements of Work (SOWs) and delivery programs Strong executive communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders from engineering teams through to C-level executives Technical Expertise Demonstrable expertise designing and implementing modern software engineering and cloud-native architectures Deep hands-on experience across AWS services and ecosystem, including modern application architecture and cloud platform design Strong understanding of AI engineering and Generative AI, including enterprise adoption patterns, LLM-based systems, agentic workflows, APIs, RAG, MCP, orchestration, and production AI considerations Proven ability to architect and implement scalable, secure, enterprise-grade solutions Strong background in software engineering practices, including CI/CD, DevOps, testing strategies, platform engineering, observability, and secure-by-design approaches Experience modernising enterprise platforms and legacy systems through cloud migration and software transformation Understanding of security, governance, compliance, and operational excellence in enterprise environments Growth & Industry Presence Strong professional network across the software, AI, and AWS ecosystem A track record of contributing to thought leadership, customer engagement, blogs, presentations, conferences, or community events Continuous learner mindset with a commitment to certifications, emerging technologies, and industry trends Apply Now: If you’re passionate about leading AI-powered full stack projects, building scalable applications, and shaping the future of AI consulting, APPLY NOW and join V2 AI!
