At Cvent, we’re committed to continuous learning and adaptation—AI isn’t just a tool for us, it’s part of our DNA. We’re looking for candidates who are eager to evolve alongside technology. Our team values professionals who thoughtfully integrate AI into their daily work, delivering exceptional results while relying on the human judgment and creativity that drive real innovation.

Cvent is seeking a Director, AI Transformation within Cvent Consulting to lead customer-facing AI transformation work, beginning with our most advanced customers: Fortune 500 companies that are paving the way with AI transformation. This leader will work directly with customers and partners to understand the business outcomes they want from AI, and will shape how Cvent’s platform, data, and services are built, packaged, and delivered around those outcomes.

An example is partnering with one of our major clients to roll out a headless version of Cvent on their proprietary technology, either by connecting to the client’s MCP or by using Cvent’s MCP. The ultimate goal is to understand the outcomes the client wants to achieve, learn from that work, and then work with that client to take the resulting solution to market together and turn it into repeatable offerings for other customers and partners. The Director will build trusted executive relationships, ensure engagements are scoped and delivered to a high standard, and partner closely with Sales, Product, Technology, Professional Services, and Marketing. This role is consulting-led and partners with Sales on commercial opportunities and partner relationships rather than owning a sales quota.

In This Role, You Will:

  • Lead customer-facing AI transformation engagements, starting with our most advanced Fortune 500 customers who are paving the way with AI transformation: understand their goals, workflows, and measurable outcomes, and design how Cvent helps them achieve those outcomes.
  • Lead rollouts of headless versions of Cvent on a client’s proprietary technology, such as partnering with a major client to embed Cvent into their own environment, either by connecting to the client’s MCP or by using Cvent’s MCP, from discovery through launch and adoption; use each rollout to understand the outcomes the client wants to achieve, define success measures, and capture lessons that can be applied to other customers and partners.
  • Once solutions are built with these transformative customers, work with them to define how to take those solutions to market together, including joint positioning, packaging, co-selling, and shared customer success stories, in partnership with Sales, Product, and Marketing.
  • Translate customer outcomes into clear input for Cvent’s product and technology roadmap, working with Product and Technology so that Cvent is built around how customers want to use AI.
  • Build and deepen executive-level relationships with customer and partner leaders; represent Cvent in client meetings, partner forums, and industry events; and help teams navigate complex stakeholder environments.
  • Build and manage AI transformation partnerships with major clients and with technology and ecosystem partners; co-develop joint solutions and go-to-market approaches that create value for customers.
  • Partner with Sales on business development: identify and qualify AI transformation opportunities, shape solutions and proposals, support large and strategic client opportunities, and translate customer and partner priorities into coordinated action.
  • Develop repeatable services and reusable intellectual property, such as AI readiness assessments, outcome frameworks, playbooks, and reference approaches, that strengthen Cvent Consulting’s value proposition.
  • Oversee the engagement lifecycle: define scope, requirements, staffing, work plans, milestones, deliverables, and governance; manage changing needs, risks, budgets, and timelines to deliver high-quality, timely, measurable results.
  • Use metrics and reporting to track customer outcomes, adoption, pipeline, and engagement financial performance (including revenue, margin, and resource capacity); communicate results and adjust plans in a timely way.
  • Build, coach, and develop the AI transformation team as the portfolio grows, drawing on Consulting, Professional Services, and Technology resources; foster accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Technology, Marketing, and other leaders to track emerging AI trends and market needs, share customer success stories, and evolve Cvent’s consulting offerings.

Here's What You Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business, or a related field, or equivalent education, training, and experience; an MBA or similar advanced degree is preferred.
  • 8+ years of related experience, including leadership of complex projects, consulting engagements, enterprise programs, or technology transformation initiatives.
  • Hands-on experience with AI solutions, such as generative AI, agentic workflows, and API- or MCP-based integrations, in enterprise or technology environments, and the ability to connect them to business outcomes.
  • Experience working with Fortune 500 or other large enterprise customers on AI initiatives; experience collaborating with client and technology partner teams, including joint solution development on proprietary or custom platforms, joint go-to-market, and co-selling.
  • A record of turning customer business outcomes into solutions and product requirements, working effectively with product and engineering teams.
  • Experience supporting business development and partner ecosystems, including shaping opportunities and supporting strategic deals alongside Sales.
  • Experience in consulting, professional services, enterprise technology, or SaaS; experience supporting enterprise customers is highly valued.
  • Experience leading and developing teams, including direct and indirect reports, with a record of coaching talent and the ability to build a team as the portfolio grows.
  • Strong project and program management skills, including the ability to define scope, build work plans, coordinate cross-functional resources, manage risk, and respond effectively to changing priorities.
  • Financial and analytical capability, including experience assessing project profitability, revenue, margins, budgets, and operating performance.
  • Strong executive communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across client, partner, and internal organizations.
  • Proficiency with project management, reporting, and spreadsheet tools; experience with Salesforce or a similar CRM is a plus.
  • A customer-focused, consultative mindset; sound judgment and timely decision-making in a fast-changing environment; and a passion for using technology to solve business challenges.
  • Ability to travel up to 15%, depending on client and partner proximity, and to spend time on-site with clients as engagement needs require.
