Position Summary

The Director, Architectural Sales serves as a technical expert and strategic resource to the sales organization, supporting opportunity development, customer engagement, and solution positioning across key stakeholder groups both internally and externally.

The position bridges sales, product management, and field execution by providing technical training, identifying market opportunities, and supporting the successful application and installation of B+N product systems. The position is critical in advancing high-profile projects, strengthening the sales team’s capabilities, and informing product strategy through direct market feedback.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Sales Leadership to support the development and execution of strategic growth initiatives for B+N products across targeted markets and channels.
  • Identify, evaluate, and help prioritize new sales opportunities; collaborate with the sales team to convert opportunities into revenue through effective positioning of B+N solutions.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on B+N products, providing technical guidance and consultative support to the sales team throughout the sales cycle.
  • Train and mentor sales representatives on technical aspects and applications.
  • Support sales engagement with key stakeholders—including architects, designers, and acoustic contractors—by providing product expertise, system recommendations, and application guidance.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales teams to develop solutions that meet project specifications, performance requirements, and customer expectations.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving field installation challenges, working closely with contractors, installers, and internal teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Partner with Product Management to evaluate market needs, identify gaps in the current product offering, and recommend enhancements or new product opportunities.
  • Contribute to the development of technical documentation, installation guidelines, training materials, and sales enablement tools to support consistent and effective product positioning.
  • Participate in presentations and strategic engagements for high-profile opportunities, including National Accounts, providing technical expertise and solution-based recommendations.
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends, competitive products, and emerging technologies to inform sales strategies and product development.
  • Travel up to 50% to support customer meetings, job site visits, training sessions, and key project engagements.

Required Competencies

  • Technical & Industry Expertise: Applies deep knowledge of B+N systems, applications, installation requirements, and customization parameters to recommend practical solutions that meet project requirements.
  • Sales & Commercial Acumen: Supports the sales process by identifying opportunities and aligning Fortina solutions to customer needs, design intent, budget, and project goals.
  • Training & Sales Support: Builds sales capability by clearly translating technical concepts into actionable, easy-to-understand guidance.
  • Problem Solving & Field Support: Diagnoses installation and applications issues and delivers timely, practical solutions to keep project on track.
  • Strategic Thinking: Identify market gaps and emerging trends to support product development and long-term growth initiatives.
  • Communication & Stakeholder Engagement: Communicates technical and commercial information clearly, adapting messaging to suit different audiences and establishes trust with both internal and external stakeholders while effectively influencing decisions in sales strategy.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5+ years construction sales experience
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 50%

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Compensation & Benefits

The annual base salary range for this role is $140,000.00 - $170,000.00. Final compensation offers are determined based on a variety of factors, including the candidate’s geographic location, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications. This position offers a competitive base salary plus performance-based bonus opportunities.
