JOB OVERVIEW:
The Director, Business Analysis leads the strategy, operating model, standards, governance, and delivery quality of Business Analysis across Majesco’s L&A Core Services organization. The role leads Business Analysts, Principal Business Analysts, Product Owners, business consultants, and subject matter experts while partnering with Product, Architecture, Engineering, QA, Delivery, Services, and senior client stakeholders to deliver scalable, reusable, customer-focused solutions across Life and Annuity and Group Insurance.
This role combines strategic portfolio leadership with direct engagement in high-impact initiatives, ensuring that product vision is translated into clear business capabilities, end-to-end journeys, testable requirements, measurable outcomes, and high-quality releases.
CORE DELIVERABLES:
- Own and execute the Business Analysis strategy for L&A Core Services, aligning product vision, roadmap priorities, investment decisions, and execution outcomes across Product Management, Architecture, Engineering, Delivery, QA, and executive leadership.
- Establish and continuously improve BA frameworks, standards, templates, governance, operating mechanisms, and quality practices across the L&A product line.
- Translate product strategy and roadmap priorities into clear business capabilities, end-to-end user journeys, requirements, business rules, acceptance criteria, UAT scenarios, test cases, and measurable release outcomes.
- Lead analysis for core Life and Annuity and Group Insurance capabilities, including policy administration, new business, underwriting, policy servicing, billing and payments, commissions, claims, customer and agent servicing, data, integrations, and digital experiences.
- Ensure requirements and solution definitions are complete, coherent, testable, traceable, scalable, reusable, and aligned with product standards, reference architecture, data models, integration patterns, and long-term platform strategy.
- Lead cross-functional resolution of scope boundaries, dependencies, requirement conflicts, design trade-offs, quality risks, and delivery issues across Product, Architecture, Engineering, QA, Services, Delivery, and customer-facing teams.
- Partner with Implementation, Production, Support, Customer Success, and client teams to reduce defect leakage, strengthen root-cause analysis, drive corrective and preventive actions, and improve first-time-right delivery.
- Oversee UAT, release readiness, issue triage, and production issue resolution to confirm that solutions meet business requirements, customer expectations, and applicable product and service-level commitments.
- Hire, lead, coach, mentor, and develop Business Analysts, Principal Business Analysts, Product Owners, consultants, and SMEs while building a high-performance culture and a strong BA community of practice.
- Define and track BA KPIs and OKRs, including requirement-related defects, backlog health, sign-off cycle times, rework, scenario coverage, UAT outcomes, delivery readiness, and defect leakage; use insights to drive continuous improvement.
- Responsibilities may evolve over time, and other duties may be assigned to support team and business objectives.
ESSENTIAL ATTRIBUTES AND CAPABILITIES:
- Strong ability to define, govern, and document business and functional requirements for technical and non-technical audiences across complex, regulated insurance environments.
- Deep understanding of Life and Annuity and/or Group Insurance business processes, operating models, policy administration, claims, billing, servicing, distribution, data, and integration considerations.
- Strong business and technical acumen, with the ability to connect product strategy, customer needs, insurance operations, platform capabilities, and measurable business outcomes.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, negotiation, storytelling, and executive presence, with proven ability to establish credibility with C-suite, senior client leadership, and cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and drive alignment across Product, Delivery, Architecture, Engineering, QA, Services, Support, and customer stakeholders without relying on formal authority.
- Proven people leadership capability, including hiring, coaching, mentoring, performance management, succession planning, and career development.
- Hands-on experience working within Agile and scaled Agile software development teams and cycles, including roadmap planning, backlog refinement, PI planning, UAT, release readiness, and retrospectives.
- Strong first-time-right quality mindset, with a commitment to customer experience, defect prevention, requirement quality, and continuous improvement.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to prioritization, performance tracking, issue resolution, and decision-making under ambiguity and time pressure.

- Strong preference to automate repetitive tasks and improve productivity, reuse, standardization, and consistency in insurance transactions and analysis practices.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND TECHNICAL EXPERTISE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Insurance, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Banking and Finance, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 20++ years of professional experience, including 10+ years working with Life and Annuity and/or Group Insurance software products, platforms, or technology-enabled insurance operations.
- 5+ years of experience leading teams, communities of practice, or organization-wide Business Analysis and product-quality initiatives.
- Strong blend of business and technical understanding of core, data, digital, integration, and cloud-based enterprise systems for L&A and Group Insurance.
- Proven experience leading complex, cross-product, cross-functional, and global initiatives with significant business, customer, operational, or technical impact.
- Experience establishing BA governance, quality standards, KPIs, operating mechanisms, and measurable practices that improve delivery predictability and product outcomes.
- Strong experience with requirements engineering, process modeling, business capability mapping, user journeys, business rules, functional specifications, acceptance criteria, traceability, UAT, and test coverage.
- Strong knowledge of insurance technology vendors, key product and technology trends, competitive advancements, and emerging technologies relevant to L&A and Group Insurance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and information persuasively to senior stakeholders through structured storytelling.
- Experience with SAFe or other scaled Agile development practices and processes; SAFe certification such as SAFe Practitioner or SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager is preferred.
- Ability to work across global time zones and with remote teams as needed to support product delivery and customer outcomes.
