About the role

The Director, Data & Technology plays a central role in driving data driven decision making within the organisation. The team is structured across three functions. Donor Systems manages the integrity, administration and integration of SCHF’s donor database and CRM platforms, ensuring fundraisers have accurate, accessible supporter data. Data Engineering builds and maintains the data pipelines and architecture that connect systems, enable reliable reporting and support AI ready data environments.

Data Analytics translates data into actionable insights to support fundraising strategy, revenue forecasting and organisational decision making, and operates as a shared service working closely with the Director of Strategy & Brand, the Finance Director and the Philanthropy team. Information technology services, including service desk and cyber security operations, are delivered by a managed service provider under the Director’s management.

This is a leadership role rather than a hands-on delivery role. The Director sets direction, priorities, standards and governance, and holds the three Heads accountable for delivery within their functions. The role does require genuine technical understanding across CRM and donor systems, data engineering and analytics, artificial intelligence, and technology operations and security, sufficient to set direction, test proposals, assure quality, make sound investment decisions and lead specialists credibly.

The Director plays a pivotal role in shaping SCHF as a data driven organisation. They partner with fundraising and operational leaders to understand their objectives and translate these into data and technology outcomes that grow revenue and improve supporter experience. They ensure solid data governance, and they hold accountability for the cyber and data security, privacy and integrity of SCHF’s systems and supporter data.
