What You'll Do:

The Director, Energy PMO leads the planning and execution of Energy construction, strategic capital projects, infrastructure, and dry dock programs, and internal Energy programs as the PMO center of excellence. This role establishes disciplined governance for schedule, cost, scope, risk, project controls, construction site management, and subcontractor project management and site management resourcing to ensure safe, predictable, and commercially aligned project delivery.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead Project Management standards, governance, and execution discipline across Energy construction, strategic capital projects, infrastructure, and dry dock programs, and internal Energy programs.
• Direct integrated project planning, including scope definition, execution strategy, schedule development, cost estimates, contracting approach, resource planning, and risk management.
• Oversee dry dock project management and capital construction project management from early planning through execution, closeout, and lessons learned.
• Direct project controls practices, including schedule management, cost control, forecasting, change control, progress reporting, and executive-level performance visibility.
• Provide leadership for construction site management to ensure safe, coordinated, and efficient execution in shipyard and project site environments.
• Oversee subcontractor project management and site management resourcing, including capability planning, alignment to project demands, performance oversight, and issue escalation.
• Partner with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, HSE, Finance, Legal, and business leadership to align project execution with operational readiness, regulatory requirements, commercial commitments, and business priorities.
• Identify and mitigate project risks related to schedule, cost, safety, scope, quality, labor, subcontractor performance, material availability, and shipyard constraints.
• Build Project Management capability by standardizing tools, templates, reporting cadences, project review forums, and lessons-learned practices across the project portfolio.

Qualifications

Experience:

• 8+ years of progressive experience leading complex capital projects, dry dock programs, shipyard engagements, construction programs, maritime projects, industrial maintenance programs, or related project delivery functions is required.
• Experience leading project managers, project controls, construction site teams, and subcontractor project management or site management resources in high-complexity environments is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience managing schedule, cost, scope, risk, change control, contractor performance, project controls, and executive-level project reporting is essential.

Education & Credentials:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, Maritime Operations, or a related field is required; an advanced degree or relevant professional certification is preferred. Equivalent combination of post-secondary education and directly related experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirements.

Technical Proficiencies:

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools used for scheduling, cost control, reporting, document management, and collaboration. Strong working knowledge of project controls platforms, scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project or Primavera P6, cost forecasting practices, change control processes, and risk registers is preferred. Familiarity with construction management systems, shipyard planning tools, ERP systems, Power BI, SharePoint, Teams, and executive dashboard reporting is a plus.

Other:

• Ability to travel as needed to support project reviews, shipyard engagements, dry dock planning, construction execution, subcontractor oversight, leadership meetings, and site-based issue resolution.

Strong communication, stakeholder management, problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making skills, with the ability to balance safety, schedule, cost, scope, quality, and risk. Success requires a high degree of ownership, comfort operating in shipyard and construction environments, and the ability to establish consistent PMO practices, direct project controls discipline, and influence cross-functional teams and subcontractor project management and site management partners.

Working Conditions:

Works both inside an office environment and also outside in conditions of both high and low temperatures. May be exposed to odors, dust, dirt, mechanical hazards, high noise levels and potentially dangerous equipment. Must be able to crouch and stoop to get into areas with restricted headroom and be able to climb ladders. May require extended use of computer keyboard and viewing of computer monitor and ability to sit for long periods of time.
