The Director, Marketing Analytics leads the Media Analytics function and a team of analysts responsible for measuring marketing effectiveness and translating data into insights that inform media strategy, investment, and business performance.

A primary focus is leading marketing mix modeling (MMM), including ongoing measurement, optimization, monthly performance readouts, scenario planning, model interpretation, and evaluation of data inputs as business and marketing strategies evolve.

This individual partners with Marketing, the advertising agency, external partners, and other stakeholders to connect marketing activity to business outcomes. The ideal candidate combines marketing measurement expertise with consulting, communication, technical, and people leadership skills and can move between strategy, analysis, and executive presentations.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Media Analytics team, including managing, coaching, and developing analysts while establishing priorities and ensuring high-quality, timely deliverables.
  • Lead MMM strategy, including model performance reviews, interpretation, scenario planning, investment recommendations, ongoing optimization, and monthly performance readouts for Marketing and business leadership.
  • Improve MMM by evaluating new data sources, business drivers, marketing inputs, and evolving measurement approaches to strengthen model accuracy and usefulness.
  • Partner with Marketing Leadership to understand business priorities, identify analytical opportunities, and ensure measurement approaches evolve with the marketing strategy.
  • Translate complex analytical findings into clear business narratives, recommendations, and presentations for technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.
  • Lead the design and measurement of marketing experiments, including match-market tests and other incrementality approaches, and integrate results with MMM, attribution, and media performance data to assess causal impact and marketing effectiveness.
  • Partner with external vendors and agency partners supporting MMM, media measurement, and related analytics initiatives to ensure methodologies and deliverables meet business needs.
  • Navigate the data environment and use SQL to access, validate, and analyze data in Google BigQuery for recurring analytics and ad hoc business requests.
  • Evaluate data quality and work with internal data and technology teams to resolve gaps that could affect marketing measurement or model accuracy.
  • Analyze marketing and media performance across digital and traditional channels to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
  • Establish analytical standards, processes, and documentation that improve the consistency, scalability, and reliability of Media Analytics deliverables.

Job Skills:

  • Experience with marketing mix modeling (MMM) required.
  • Strong executive communication and storytelling skills.
  • Self-directed, motivated, and comfortable taking initiative in a fast-changing environment.
  • Proficiency in SQL required, including experience with Google BigQuery or a similar data warehouse.
  • Familiarity with ad servers and related media technology is a plus.

Work Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in marketing analytics, media measurement, or a related field.
  • 5+ years people management experience required, including coaching and developing analytical professionals.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Analytics, or a related field.

Other:

  • Must be able to travel 10% of time.
  • Must be able to lift 15 lbs.
  • Typical office setting.
  • Mobility within the office including movement from floor to floor.
  • Travel via plane, car, and metro may be required to perform this job.
  • Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week when business needs warrant.
  • Access information using a computer.
  • Effectively communicate, both up and down the management chain.
  • Effectively cope with stressful situations.
  • Strong mental acuity.
  • Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this job.
  • Other essential functions and marginal job functions are subject to modification.
