Position Summary

The Director, Enterprise Planning & Portfolio Management leads the enterprise capability that converts strategic priorities and technology-enabled demand into a capacity-informed investment plan and actively manages the health, performance and value of the approved portfolio. The role integrates enterprise planning, investment governance, portfolio management, decision intelligence and PPM enablement into one management system that improves how Technology allocates constrained resources. A successful leader will drive proactive portfolio leadership, forward-looking decision support and disciplined investment management across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Planning & Investment

  • Lead the enterprise technology planning and investment cadence, connecting strategic priorities, demand, economics, risk and capacity into an integrated plan.
  • Establish prioritization criteria, investment-governance practices and decision frameworks that enable consistent enterprise trade-offs.
  • Oversee capacity and scenario planning to frame sequencing options, constraints and implications as priorities or available resources change.
  • Coordinate business-case enablement, financial and resource-sizing inputs, planning assumptions and commitment baselines required for investment decisions.
  • Maintain a forward-looking demand pipeline and trigger replanning when enterprise conditions materially change.

Portfolio Leadership & Optimization

  • Lead active management of technology portfolios, with accountability for strategic alignment, health, investment performance, capacity constraints, systemic risk and cross-initiative dependencies.
  • Develop fact-based recommendations to accelerate, rebalance, sequence, defer, pause or stop work when portfolio conditions warrant leadership action.
  • Establish decision-oriented portfolio governance and reporting focused on implications, trade-offs and interventions.
  • Lead and develop Portfolio Managers to operate as proactive portfolio leaders who challenge assumptions and surface enterprise-level recommendations.
  • Connect portfolio insights to Program Execution and Enterprise Transformation so investment decisions reflect execution realities.

Portfolio Intelligence & Decision Support

  • Ensure leaders have timely, reliable and forward-looking insight into demand, investment, capacity, execution performance, risk and value.
  • Establish common portfolio metrics, analytical definitions and management information across portfolio areas.
  • Translate trends, constraints, concentration risks and performance exceptions into clear executive insights and actions.

PPM Product, Data & Tooling

  • Set direction for the PPM management infrastructure required to operate at enterprise scale, including taxonomy, data standards, workflows, dashboards, integrations and automation.
  • Ensure a prioritized roadmap is maintained while improving data quality, usability and adoption.
  • Reduce manual portfolio administration through fit-for-purpose technology, automation and AI-enabled capabilities.

Leadership & Scope

  • Lead a lean, multi-disciplinary organization that includes Portfolio Managers, Enterprise Planning & Investment leadership and analysts, and senior PPM/tooling expertise.
  • Influence senior Technology, Product, Finance and business leaders across a highly matrixed environment and challenge investment assumptions with facts and clear recommendations.
  • Own the integrated management capability

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of progressive experience across enterprise portfolio management, technology planning, investment management, strategy, business operations or related disciplines, including significant leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing a large, complex technology or transformation portfolio in a scaled enterprise environment.
  • Proven experience in investment prioritization, portfolio governance, capacity/scenario planning, resource allocation and executive decision support.
  • Proven ability to move portfolio-management organizations beyond reporting and administration toward active portfolio leadership.
  • Financial and business acumen; ability to synthesize complex data into clear executive recommendations.
  • Experience leading teams and improving PPM processes, data, tooling and automation.

Salary Pay Range

Minimum :

245,000.00 USD

Maximum :

270,000.00 USD
