The Director, Influence Engagement The Director, Influence Engagement is responsible for leading the overall communications, engagement, and influence strategy for Trust In Food. This position develops and executes integrated communications strategies that drive producer engagement, strengthen partner relationships, amplify sustainable agriculture initiatives, and support Farm Journal's business objectives. The Director serves as the strategic communications leader for Trust In Food, overseeing messaging, storytelling, partner communications, community engagement, and content strategy. Working closely with internal departments including Media, Marketing, Sales and Events this role ensures all communications and engagement efforts are aligned, measurable, and deliver meaningful outcomes for producers and partners. Trust In Food has the benefit of engaging directly with the nation’s top agri-media brands, trusted for ~150 years in U.S. agriculture. This role must work closely with journalists, media anchors, podcasters, and other professionals across the company to deliver what’s important and what’s next in sustainable agriculture. Essential Duties and Responsibilities These duties include, but are not limited to, the following. Other duties may be assigned. Develop and lead the overall communications and engagement strategy for Trust In Food to support organizational, partner, and business objectives. Create and implement integrated communications plans that drive producer engagement, strengthen partner relationships, and increase awareness of Trust In Food initiatives. Lead and manage the Trust In Food Engagement team Oversee the development and execution of content across digital, social media, events, email campaigns, websites, presentations, videos, graphics and other communication channels. Establish and maintain messaging, brand standards, and communication strategies across all Trust In Food programs, campaigns, and partner initiatives. Develop strategic communication plans for partnerships, campaigns, webinars, workshops, conferences, and other in-person and virtual events. Serve as the communications lead for strategic partners by developing engagement strategies, supporting partner renewals, and identifying opportunities to enhance partner value and visibility. Work closely with Farm Journal marketing, brands, journalists, broadcasters and media teams to amplify Trust In Food initiatives and sustainable agriculture storytelling. ~10% travel farm locations, industry events and client meetings for content creation and coverage Skills/Professional Experience These qualifications include, but are not limited to, the following: 10+ years in communications, engagement, marketing, public relations, strategic communications, agricultural communications, or related fields. Demonstrated experience developing integrated communications strategies. Proven ability to lead strategic communications planning and execution. Exceptional partner-facing, client-facing, and internal communication skills with the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of an organization. Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and executive communication skills. Strong project and program management skills with the ability to manage multiple complex initiatives and competing priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail. Adaptable, flexible, and able to thrive in fast-paced, evolving, and ambiguous environments. Strong collaborator who values communication, accountability, and teamwork while fostering a positive and inclusive work environment. Experience developing and evaluating performance metrics and using data to inform communications and engagement strategies. Interest in and knowledge of agriculture, sustainability, and producer audiences preferred. Work authorization requirements Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
